Realistic Fatigue Problem

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 11:34 am

I feel pretty bad for posting so many support threads lately. I usually try to figure things out myself using Google, searching forums, ect. But I can't find the solution on my own to this specific issue, and if anyone could help that would be great.

Basically I am having trouble with Realistic Fatigue and getting it to initialize properly in my game. I looked at the console and found that "Realistic Fatigue.ini" was, in fact, recognized by the game- but none of it's functions are actually applied at all. Basically, the mod is useless: no fatigue drain whatsoever no matter how much I run, jump, and swing my weapon around.

I am baffled at the fact that apparently Realistic Fatigue IS recognized but none of it's functions are actually applied to my game.

Is there a way to 'force' the game to apply Realistic Fatigue, such as some sort of console command or startquest function of some sort? I looked in the readme but I didn't find anything other than the "startquest aaRFrepair" which did not work, because there was no fatigue drain detected. But the function WAS recognized.

Also note that it was manually installed instead of using any OMODs.

My load order is sorted with BOSS. I am having issues with my Bashed Patch though, and that's a whole 'nother story entirely. (I am purposely loading it after a few other mods.) But f it helps, here is my load order.

RF requires OBSE, e.g. that it's installed and that you launch the game via its loader. Best to start there as you don't mention OBSE. Also, check that you have RealisticFatigue.ini in the Data folder.

Also, while I'm at it (not connected to this issue):

05 Oscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esm [Version 1.33] - Update to 1.34 Beta 5. MMM 3.7b3p3 requires it.

0C UOP Vampire Aging & Face Fix.esp [Version 1.0.0] - Use tha Bashed Patch tweak instead.
0D Oblivion Citadel Door Fix.esp - Skip.

2D Oscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esp [Version 1.33] - As above.

++ OOO-Container_Trap_Instant_Effects.esp [Version 1.33] - Skip. Not needed.

31 Mart's Monster Mod - Gems & Gem Dust.esp [Version 3.7b3] - Skip. Don't use with OOO.

37 Mart's Monster Mod - Diverse WaterLife.esp [Version 3.7b3p3] - http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1116296-relz-martsmonstermod37b3-public-release-3-relz/page__view__findpost__p__16393704.

Yes, I am using OBSE, the latest stable build, and launching the game using the OBSE launcher. I thought that would be a no-brainer. Is there something wrong with how I installed OBSE though? I'll go double-check and see if all the files are present where they should be...

Yes, the INI is in fact in my Data folder- that's how the game recognized it in the first place, methinks.

Thank you for catching those mistakes in my load order. I will fix those now.

EDIT: Yup, OBSE is definitely installed properly. Another mod which uses OBSE functions that I have running (Put it in it's place) is running just fine. And I double-checked to make sure everything was there in the Oblivion directory. And, I always launch using OBSE launcher.

Well, I'll ask the obvious question; did you configure the ini?

As per the ReadMe: If you really must install this without using OBMM then you will have to edit the RealisticFatigue.ini file and replace all the tags with values, otherwise this mod will not work correctly.

Also some notes regarding your load order.

- Remove Enhanced Weather, it's incorporated in Weather-All Natural.
- Re-sort your load order with BOSS. There's no reason for all those Better Cities mods to be after your Bashed Patch.
- You have Let The People Drink, New Roads and Bridges and UL-Imperial Isle. You'll need the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20218 found here.
- You'll probably need a bunch of the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13834.
- Also, I'm not 100% sure, but are nGCD and Progress compatible?

Ah, yes, I did make some modifications to the INI, but perhaps I missed a few essential components... Thank you for the heads up. I will go over it again and make sure I didn't miss anything- I have a feeling this is probably my issue. Thanks.

As I mentioned I am purposely loading my Bashed Patch after some mods. This is due to some very strange errors I am getting in regards to rebuilding my patch. It's difficult to explain and rather odd.

Thanks for the heads up about the compatibility patches there, I forgot I missed those.

Yes, nGCD and Progress are compatible, as far as I know. I seem to remember reading that they were.

Yes, nGCD and Progress are compatible. Sorry for the "no brainer", but you'd be surprised so always a good idea to be as detailed as possible. Not much help otherwise, though, as my "no brainer" tips have been covered.

Oh, it's fine- I sometimes miss or forget 'no brainer' steps so it's always good to be prepared- I just felt I should mention that so that you'd understand why I didn't initially explain why I didn't mention OBSE in my original post. I have missed a few no-brainer things before, so it's always nice to have all your bases covered.

Also, I believe it was in fact my ini settings that were causing the program. When I follow instructions I tend to follow it explicitally, word for word, and when the Realistic Fatigue readme said to replace tags with values, I thought it literally meant tags when in reality... it was just a generic term to describe multiple different settings. Double-checking my INI led me to find the most-likely problematic settings. I will launch the game and see if it fixes it.

Thanks, you two. :D I think it'll work now.
