I have the same problem. I tried installing thru dosbox, following the directions as exactly as possible, but I still get the message that the wrong cd is installed. Does anyone know what causes this?

Go into your "z.cfg" file, and change

pathcd c:\dagger\arena2\
to pathcd c:\dagger\arena2.

When you're in DOSBOX (assuming you've mounted your C drive), type:

cd dagger
fall z.cfg

The game should start.

That did the trick. Game starts now. Unfortunately the weapon handling is very sluggish.

Do you mean you just don't like DF's control method or is there some sort of problem with the game picking up your movements or something else? If you mean the speed of the weapon movement, then note that that's dependent on your character's agility (after a few clothing items buffing your agi from the mages guild, you'll be up to 10x as fast as most enemeis).

I found that problem too but I just quickly pressed and held the right mouse button, made a little quick motion with the mouse and it works 99% of the time.
