need help installing fcom correctly

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 6:26 pm

I'm trying to install FCOM for the first time, and according to http://devnull.sweetdanger.net/fcominstall.html, i am supposed to install OOO full with just the main esm and esp. but whenever i try, i always end up with some of the add-ons. can someone tell me which options i'm supposed to say 'yes' to and which i'm supposed to say 'no' to?

EDIT: Just a heads up - i'm using the OMOD version of OOO

Thanks in advance,

You're best off asking your questions in the official http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1152645-relz-fcom-convergence-and-ufcom/. You'll get the best help and advice there.

Have never used the OMOD installer but the important thing is that you:

1. Get all the resources from 1.33, which you should.
2. Get the resources plus Oscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esp (which is the full version as it doesn't come with a lite one) and Oscuro's_Oblivion_Overhaul.esm from the OOO 1.34 Beta 5 update, which you should if you install it after 1.33 and let it overwrite.

If you for some reason get optional esp's that you don't need/shouldn't use, you can safely just delete them. There's really no optional esp's or bundled mods that you'd want/should use anyway, with the possible exception of OOO-Water_Weeds.esp and OOO-WaterFish.esp.

So its safe to use the whole package? using the additional mods, it won't screw my game?

Yeah, just get 1.33 the full package and then make the update to 1.34 beta 5. Essentially 1.34 overwrites a couple of files from the 1.33 full with the same files but of a newer, updated version. It's really straightforward, even I could do it. :)
