FCOM++ - A few strange things

I installed pretty much according to the 50 steps to a stable FCOM.

I am having a few strange things, and was wondering if people could help me identify them:

1. A bunch of standard items have a cost of 0. Steel weapons and armor, for example. basically, all the things one finds lying around guild houses.
2. No repair hammers being sold. I dimly suspect that it might be because they also have a cost of 0, and therefore can't be sold by shopkeepers
3. Some baddies like bandits do not always go hostile and attack.
4. In some fights, the baddie will run up to me and keep trying to push through me, just letting me clobber him, without fighting back.

Also, I find it really immersion breaking that with all the work FCOM does to make the game challenging, that there is a Collector's Society selling tons of high end weapons, armor and magic items. Any way to get rid of that building?

1. Do you have Enhanced Economy configured correctly? It doesn't sound like it...
2. You have Enhanced Economy installed. Not all shop keepers sell all types of items. Try the local smith, and also check EE's configuration.
3. This problem is indicative of AI overload. Your CPU cannot process all of the actors present in the scene. What CPU do you have? You can reduce this effect by using one of the FCOM or MMM reduced spawn plugins. Also, make sure you have the right max actor caps set in the Bashed Patch.
4. This is part of the same problem.
5. The Collector's Society is part of the Artifacts mod, something I just found out by reading about the mod on the TESNexus page for it a few minutes ago.


Please read all of your mod's documentation, and I highly suggestion playing with FCOM by itself before adding a bunch of mods to it, especially when you are not even familiar with them. Are you sure you even want all of those mods? Blade of Mercy's thread is a guide for install FCOM+++ setups. That does not mean you have to use exactly the same mods mentioned in it. Start with FCOM, then FCOM+ and then FCOM+++ later once you are familiar with the 100+ mods that are going into it. Fortunately, these problems were pretty easy to pick out, but once you run into script-related conflicts and the like, troubleshooting can be difficult for the best of us. That's why most experience users here on the forum press building slowly. You could figure out which mod added the guild by using FormID Finder on the related NPCs or something (a good troubleshooting technique.)


Edit: I was not trying to be harsh. I am just feeling kind of lazy, and I wanted to offer some suggestions. If you cut all of the mods you are unfamiliar with out of your load order and try to run a more basic version of FCOM, that will give you a feel for the changes it makes to the game (and then you won't be wondering about random immersion-breaking things added by other mods.) Make sure you've narrowed the issue down to FCOM before posting in the FCOM thread about it too. The "it's all FCOM's fault" or "FCOM's broken" complaints become annoying, quickly...

Edit: Too lethargic this morning... I forgot to mention that you should get rid of OMOBS Optional Combat Settings. The changes are already incorporated into OOO. Your load order looks fine, by the way.

2. I have been to every shop in every city. No hammers anywhere.

5. Yes, I know it is part of Artifacts. I want Artifacts added to the leveled lists, but would like to get rid of that house. I wondered if anyone had created a micro mod to do so.

As to the rest of your comments, I do truly appreciate anyone who responds, so no damage done.

That said, I do read all the documentation for every mod. I played half-way through a "vanilla" FMOD about a year ago and this time wanted a more diverse experience.

Remove Artifacts.esp. All it does is placing the Collector's Society. Note that you need to rename Artifacts.bsa (for example to FCOM_Convergence_Artifacts.bsa) to have the resources loading if removing the esp.

Ho, Arkngt, I never knew I can rename the BSA and remove the Artifacts esp...
If I do this, will I still have them as loot items in FCOM world?

The first part of the name has to be the same as an esp, just as in the example, so you can rename it to any esp name or "any esp name"_Artifacts.

Cool, well the hammers thing sounds odd. Hopefully, theNiceOne can help you fix the problem with the shops.

Yes, Artifacts.esp just adds the shop to the world and ensures that the bsa is loaded, so you still get the Artifacts loot without it if using Artifacts - ArmaCompleteAddon.esp.

The goblin mori and sword that FormID tells me is from FCOM_RealSwords - their mesh isn't showing up, but according to the path that FormID is showing me (D:\games\Oblivion\Data\Meshes\RealSwords\Goblin) ... the nif files are all there.

Any idea what might be wrong? So far weapons from Artifacts and other places are all showing fine.

Do you have UFCOM installed? If so, I don't think that file should be loose in your data folder. It should be in the UFCOM BSA.

You should uninstall the loose resources, i.e. the previous version of FCOM, if using the bsa.

No, RealSwords are merged in FCOM so it would be FCOM Beta 0.9.9. As you're using the bsa you need to uninstall the loose resources first, i.e. uninstall FCOM 099.

Required: You need to uninstall all resources from FCOM_Convergence, WarCry and Bob's before using these bsa's.
