Everything seems to be runnning fine, except one thing.

Basso (Thieves Arsenal mod) and Derrien Venoit (Thievery in the Imperial City mod) will both buy stolen goods from me, but sometimes instead of me getting the money for the sale, THEY get the money for the sale!?

It doesn't happen with every sale. I was just able to sell a silver dagger, and some fancy clothes to Derrien, then buy them back. At that point I got the dialogue about "he's willing to give me hints, etc." But then the following items I tried to sell to him (some stolen wine for ~4.6 spt) depleted money from MY pocket instead of his. There is this unusual clicking sound (like a tabulation machine running) when this happens. In fact, when I sell one single wine, it then sells ALL of them and I hear the clicker clicking off with each "sale."

I'm guessing this is not a normal part of any of the mods I have installed and is somehow a bug resulting from all the different mods I have running?

Any suggestions on how to sort this out are appreciated.

ADDIT: one other question, several .esp files in my Data folder have alternate versions (e.g., Worthwhile Thievery Normal, Easy, Hard, and with the "thrill" versions). I know to only run one of these in ever instance, but BOSS log seems to be worried that all of them are running with its "note run only one" comments. I'm hesitant to delete those extra .esps that I don't use though. Should I?

Can you replicate this easily? Did this only recently happen or has it been going on for some time and you just ignored it? I once ran into some strange problems myself, the numbers menu would stop coming up for me, these oddities are strange and varied in effect, but the safest way to deal with them has always been to simply go back to a save before the problem appeared and see if you're in the clear, sometimes these kind of weird things just happen and people don't really understand why.

EDIT: BOSS tags should almost always be followed, use only one, did you check the read me before installing the mods?

It happened once with Basso. But I wasn't entirely sure if he was supposed to serve as a fence or not and thought that it might have been functioning properly.
So I installed the Thievery in the Imperial City mod, which adds Derrien Venoit (a fence) and noted it happening with him too.

I'm going to take a wild guess that it is Skill Based Invitation to Thieve's Guild and see what happens when I disable that in OBMM.

ADDIT: As far as replicating it, yes it seems to recur predictably.

I selll a couple stolen items to either of these mod added fences (Basso or Derrien) and then at some point, additional stolen items I sell start costing me money and putting money in their purse instead.

ADDIT2: yes, I always read readmes, though I admit sometimes I do skim them initially. If I have problems though I always go back and read them closely again.

Deactivated Skill Based Invitation to Thieves' Guild in OBMM. Resumed my last save, standing in Derrien's Discount Merchandise shop.

Tried to sell him a stolen Blue Green outfit for 6.1spt. I had 61septims he had about 700. Click the outfit item and yes to sell it. I hear that clicker *ticka-ticka-ticka-tick* sound and watch my septims progressively drop down to zero while his goes up by 61.

That is exactly what is happening and deactivating Skill Thieve's Guild didn't change it.

Back to the drawing boards . . .

It seems to have been Enhanced Economy (or at least how I had it configured) not getting along with Thieve's Arsenal and/or Thievery in Imp City. Deactivating Enhanced Econ fixed it.

Will now fiddle with it to see if I can get them to play together nicely by reactivating with default settings in Enhanced Econ.

Reactivated Enhanced Econ with default settings and sold some more stolen stuff to Derrien with no problem.

I had previously had the "calculate fractions" feature in EE set, and I think that that became a problem when I installed the two thieving mods.

Anyway, problem seems to be solved now. Thanks!

This was indeed a problem with a specifc Enhanced Economy version, quite some time ago, so my guess is that you're using this old version of EE that had this bug. Upgrade EE to the latest version, and the problem will be gone.
