Need to know if Oblivion will run on my laptop - also mod qu

Hi everyone,

I've got a copy of Oblivion, runs fine albiet some fps issues on my old XP computer. I would really like to have it on my laptop, but not sure if it will cope. I have the following information, but not sure where to find any more:

- AMD Athlon II X2 processor M300 (2.0 GHz, 1 MB L2 Cache)
- ATI Radeon HD 4200 Graphics
- 15.6'' HD LED LCD
- 4 GB Memory
- 320 GB HDD

The main concern I have is the ATI Radeon HD 4200, and the widescreen - I'm not too sure if they'll go nicely with Oblivion. Would love to know if Oblivion will be okay.

Also, I am interested in installing the following mods:
Natural Environments
Midas Magic
Qarl's Texture Pack - Redimized
Deadly Reflex
Elven Map Redux
Francesco's Leveling
Martiga Monster Mod
Quest Award Leveller
LAME
City Life
Silent Stones Camp & Cave
Low-Poly Grass
Operation Optimisation
Marksmen Velocity
Adonney's Classical Weaponry
Capes and Cloaks
Forestheart
Improved Facial Textures
NonTiling Texture Mod
Ren's Beauty Pack

Will any of those significantly hit my fps? Also any compatability issues? I'm new to mods but I think I'll be fine managing the installation, OBMM is the best to use for that, right?

Thanks for the help, I'm sorry if these questions have been done to death, would greatly appreciate input!

Since that's an integrated card, I don't think it will really run. If it does it'd run poorly I'd imagine.

Reviews say the 4200 runs old games like Quake 4 at a barely playable level so I'd think you're pretty boned.

I'm not sure about the laptop. But Qarl's texture pack will surely reduce your fps, even though it's the redimized version.

I figured that much. Shame.

I had a look on youtube

And from what I can tell (I'm not a computer savvy) this guy's got a pretty similar set-up and it runs fine enough for me. Can anyone verify this? Also would performance mods help?
Also would be great to know if Oblivion is okay with widescreen.

Thanks so much for your speedy replies!

I run Oblivion on a 1366x768 widescreen PC and it's fine.

The 4gb ram is good, the processor might choke a little, but you should be fine. Its the graphics that usually are the killer. What's the VRAM on that thing?

If you really want to play, try it and run it on low settings all around. Make sure grass is OFF. Grass KILLS fps like nothing else will. You may have to leave off Anti Aliasing too. :(

Before you buy, check what the store's return policy is. Most of them are pretty good these days (in Australia, at least).

My game runs great widescreen, it's all just how well you're system runs it really.

You'll probably want to keep your res on the lower side though.

Seeing as how you can apparently get the game running with that card, as far as mods go Quarl's will definitely not run in any form as was said.

Natural Environments might cause an FPS hit, probably not huge though.

If you use Martigen's make sure to use reduced reduced spawns so that all the enemies on screen won't explode your processor.

Widescreen isn't a problem. Since you own Oblvion and you own the laptop, why not install it and see how well it works?

I ran the game with the ATI Radeon HD 3300 for a bit. It was playable at medium, so I wouldnt go above medium on the 4200, although low would be better for FPS.
