Any suggestion to improve load time?

I have Oblivion GOTY, OBMM, Wyre Bash, as well as numerous mods installed on a pair of Intel SSDs in Raid0 in my laptop.

Previously I only used a couple of mods together with the Oblivion GOTY (incl. official DLC and plugins) and the load times were 2-3 seconds to launch the game, and 1-2 seconds to load a saved game. The load times for entering new cells or buildings was almost instantaneous.

I have started the game again this time with numerous mods, including several OMOD files generated from compressed .7z archives. Now the load time is very long, maybe 20-30 seconds to launch the game and about another 30-40 seconds to load a saved game.

Is there anything I can do to improve my load times? I'm not very familiar with the compression methods for the OMOD files. Would the speed improve if I extract all the OMOD archives or adjust the compression setting within OBMM?

Well, for starters, your FCOM installation is flawed. Other things might not be right, on top of that, as well. Seems likely, at a quick glance.

But anyway, with that many large mods, including overhauls? There's going to be quite the delay, by default.

The only other thing I can think of is: defrag.

Can you explain a bit more about how to improve my FCOM installation?

Everything seems to be finally working very well, although last week, it took a bit of rearranging to get rid of googly NPC eyes and adjustments to the OBGE shader settings to fix a situation where the screen would randomly go dark..

Unfortunately defragging is not possible with SSDs, as far as I am aware.

FCOM issues I can see are probably not in the "dire" category, so to speak, but still, I recommend thoroughly reading the OP of the latest FCOM thread, and following the instructions there to the letter, in precise order.

The only thing I'm sure of is: many large mods *will* make your game/saves load more slowly. Even with SSDs, though they will help considerably.
