i think if this mechanic is added in the game they would have no choice but to put a levitation spell in skyrim. what do u think?

I don't follow the logic here. Having slippery ice necessitates levitation... how?

I expect an icy slope, up high on a mountain, that shoots you off into a body of water 100s of feet below.

it should look something like this

I don't quite grasp the relation to levitation either... it might necessitate a "Grulf Icerunner's Fur Boots of Icewalking" (or equivalent) magic item... :)

But yeah, I hope icy surfaces in Skyrim actually cause characters to slide around. It was a really fun little detail as far back as Ocarina of Time on the N64. Beyond the novelty factor, it can be used to make progressing through certain areas more challenging too, without just resorting to waves of enemies.

slippery ice would be a nice thing to have. I can see many uses for it. put some distance between me and my enemy and while the enemy is slipping on the ice trying to get to me i can pelt him with some arrows.

Can't wait for the day these types of physics are programed in, but in Skyrims case I think the chance is remote. We just arn't ready yet to make NPCs able to slip and slide as they attempt to kill us. Man the combat on ice would be so frekin cool, but I'd give Havok a few years/decades before we see this as a reality.

Technically, waterwalk effect (if it's in of course) should be able to deal with slippery ice.

Heretic had this feature in 1994.

And don't forget Half Life 2 in which you have this slippery ground too, not quite sure whether HL1 had it or not, long time ago ^^

So would really appreciate it but I also don't get the connection between this and the levitation spell -even if I would really like having it back

This would be a nice feature. Most of the Zelda games have it.
