Huh, checked the wiki yesterday and there was no unique Hunting Rifle. Still feel like slappin' though, tha pimp hand craves...

Is there anyone who actually knows if there is a unique version or not?

There is one in that list, look under rifles and look for all the guns that use .308 ammo. You will see one called "This Machine" there is your unique rifle, plus in game Boone's scoped rifle is classified as unique.

"This Machine" is more or less a unique Hunting rifle, just x10 cooler

And also there is the Gobi sniper rifle.

Well, thats a unique Sniper rifle, not a hunting rifle (but still awesome )
