In my personal experience, seeing that something is backordered usually means you might want to explore other options.

Nerver mind didn't think of calling customer service. They said they have them in stock but they have a weird system and it didn't mark that they have it. It will (customer service person) said it will come around the 25th (sad face) but it's not that long of a time difference. And the reason why I love Gamestop is the awesome and nice customer service .

You should tell them about the mental anguish you've suffered regarding their website problems/confusion and see if you can guilt trip them into overnighting it to you.

Meh, the game is released friday in europe, and since i ordered a boxed copy to save money instead of buying a digital copy from Steam (backwards, much? ) i'll be lucky getting it the 26th. Well, gives me more time to finish my Fallout 3 playtroughs, patience and positive thinking

So let me get this straight. you ordered standard shipping that says right there will take 1-10 days for delivery. Then you come here and try to say you were promised the game sooner?

For future reference... When paying close to 100 for a game. Especially one you want to play sooner then later because you ordered 3 months ahead of time. Choose overnight delivery.

I did overnight delivery for $4 more and it's guaranteed same day deliver 10/19/2010. It also says in bold font that if I don't get my game on the 19th, I get a 100% money back refund.

i ordered mine back in june with next day delivery. i just checked the status and it says open NOT backordered. sorry man.

I got it from gamestop because it guarantees same day delivery, I even called them last week and confirmed. The guy said even if it's one day late, I get refunded for the shipping.

I pre-ordered 3 months ago but did store PU and my CE will be there on the 19th.

I wish I did do a store pick up, but I have been burned by that in the past. A couple of years ago I pre-ordered in store and paid the full amount and come game day I got jipped. It doesn't help the fact that I live in los angeles and theirs way too many people here to snipe my stuff.

Yeah I just checked mine... it says back ordered as well. That's what I get for trusting a Canadian online store to satisify my gaming needs. And I pre-ordered back in May. Funny, I always thought that when you pre-order, you're kind of reserving a copy so you can actually get it near the release. I thought 5 months would be enough time for them to reserve a copy for me. Anyway, I shouldn't be surprised, it's happened to be before as well. Thank God I pre-ordered in 2 places... My Steam version will be right on time.


Edit: maybe a dumb question, but will my gamestop.ca collectors copy for the 360, even though back ordered, still have the pre-order code?

I would call ahead of time to save yourself some trouble. But if you've pre-ordered in store, I think you are more likely to have your copy on time. Next time for me I'll be sure to pre-order a physical copy in-store and a few other places, and as soon as one ships, cancel the rest.

Turns out that although it said it was back ordered for me, I just got shipping confirmation today.
