Challenging environment

I hope new developments such as water physics makes for a more challenging environment.Imagine having to search for a safe place to ford a fast-flowing river,to avoid being swept downstream.

That does sound pretty awesome. It's really a lot harder to cross a river than to just simply swim across it like we do in video games... But unfortunately, I kinda doubt they'll add features like this

Todd Howard said somewhere that traversing Skyrim's geographically features will be difficult and add depth to the game. I'm guessing he was referring to those enormous mountains. They'll prove hard to climb. Rapids should also have some sort of effect on the player when walking through them. I'd be disappointed if they didn't.

Ahh the priviledges of being a mage. Levitate over it, jump over it, waterwalk over it.
Those were fun spells...

This is the main reason why I want a "hardcoe" mode. Getting caught in a blizzard should be dangerous, some of those rapids look dangerous as well. But of course in the regular game the environment won't damage us.

Fast travelling would kind of conflict with this. But streams should have enough force to move you...unless your strength is high enough.

Or the new interesting environments might remove the tedium of walking rather than fast travelling. Maybe the more interesting features will encourage people to walk rather than fast travel.
And even then, you have to face the environment at least once.
Not to mention the potential combat advantages you could gain. Fighting on an overturned log over a lethal rapid, forcing the bandits to fight you one-on-one.

It'd be amazing to just shield bash someone into the rapids or off a cliff, I have to admit.

Speaking of which, the gameplay trailer needs to be rewritten. The dragon should just knock the player with his tail off of the cliff.
I guess thats less interesting to watch.

I'd like to get stuck in a swamp now and then... or fall into ice.

If they don't have hardcoe mode (or if hardcoe mode doesn't have warmth requirements) one of the first mods I'm going to get is a survival mod that also has warmth requirements. Imagine trying to survive in a blizzard, surrounded by ice wraiths.

I want to enchant my wonderful merlin-beard. Put some magic saran wrap around it, and reflect damage.

I do hope I fall in a crevasse during gameplay....
