New patch drops framerate significantly

Unlike most people, I had no problems with New Vegas. Until this new patch. I was running at 60 fps almost everywhere. But now with this new patch, I'm lucky to get 15. Since steam forces the patch, is there any way around this? using an i5 with a 5770 on windows 7 64 bit

Same here, Ati 5650m. Seems like many people with ATI 5xxx cards are getting hit hard by this patch.

Put me on the "New patch screwed up my perfectly running game" list.

Everything was working perfectly on my Asus ATI 4870X2 Tri-fan card before the patch. EVERYTHING!!!

Two examples:

After the patch, I now get weird patterns about 80% of the time when the game pauses for an in-game event such as opening the PIPboy. The PIPboy itself looks ok, but the game world surrounding it goes psychedelic with wierd shapes of pink, yellow, and green.

Also more than 50% of the time now after the patch, the VATS movie goes totally out of whack. I used to enjoy watching it. Now I just see horizontal streaks across the monitor while it's "playing".

Same here, Ati 5650m. Seems like many people with ATI 5xxx cards are getting hit hard by this patch.


bummer. any way to roll back to the old patch?
