Macbook Pro (Mid 2010) i5 crashing right after fast travel

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 11:41 am

I'll share diag as soon as I get to the machine.

Macbook Pro (Mid 2010) i5, 2.4 gig, 4 Gig Ram, nVidia 330m

"FalloutNV has stopped working... looking for a solution to the problem... etc"

Reload game, fast travel, and it works. My machine has more then enough ventilation, if that matters. (Folding@home, no errors)

Here is hoping we can get a fix.......

Sounds like you're experiencing the random CTD issue. More often than not this occurs when opening a door to a new area or fast traveling (the game loads a new 'cell' or something like that)

Fallout 3 did something similar but it froze (music would play, but you couldn't move. had to kill task from task manager) and although it was blamed on Windows 7 it happened on Vista too - always on an intel core i or core 2 quad processor (which have over two threads)

You can limit the threads to 2 but in my case it doesn't help (in FO3 it made it CTD instead of freeze but thats not an improvement!)

If anybody else responds here and says "You're using a mac, the game wasn't meant for macs" or "games don't work on laptops" or "your specs aren't very good", tell them to get lost. That's all meaningless.
