Trying to go through Vault 34. To cut down on the confusion and to keep him from killing everything insight I wanted Boone to wait outside. Now every time I go through another doorway that auto saves, Boone is right behind me whether I get attacked or not. Was not having this problem prior to the latest patch. Why is it if its not one thing with this damn game its another. I am getting so fed up with it.

I just attempted the Vault 34 quest for the first time, and I have Boone and ED-E with me. I never take companions inside cramped places, they get in the way and make sneaking nearly impossible. I usually clear out a place and only bring them in if I need help carrying loot out.

It freaked me out when it happened. I didn't even go through a door, I was still on the 1st floor when they just showed up. I heard ED-E's battle music playing, and my first though was ED-E had an evil twin down here. I was looking all around trying to find where the music was coming from. I didn't see him, but then Boone runs by yelling "Leroooy Jenkinnnns" as he goes into a room full of ghouls, gets killed and sends them all out after me.

I just did a search here to see if there is a fix, and from the other posts I found it appears to do it with any companion. The only fix I found in my search is to fire your companion before going into Vault 34. I also read that saving in certain places inside Vault 34 can corrupt your saves, so I think I'm going to skip this quest until it's fixed.

A .50 MG to the face will make him wait. Permanently... Seriously though, haven't encountered this annoying bug yet.
