Crossfire logo pops up and says its enabled, yet 2nd GPU still at 0%, it fluctuates for a sec like its i/oing something but then sticks at 0% :(

On the good side, these drivers are still bit better then hotfix 10.10a or 10.10b for me. I gained a little bit of FPS increase about 6% 52-55fps without d3d9 fix and 9% 60-68fps on average with it. Not Including fight scenes which drop both about 10-15. Well its a step in the right direction.

Still going to try and get this Xfire to work though.

Ahh btw, I'm on a i7 920@3.6 with a Radeon4870x2.

This would be great, but with Crossfire enabled the game flickers. It gets very slightly dim, then bright again, repeatedly. Performance does seem to be increased but the flickering is distracting.

I dont seem to have that problem. I did notice a very slight increase in performance with 10.10....but one of my 4890s still runs the game fine.

This worked for me, I haven't used any of the DLL fixes so I am curious if others who are still having issues haven't removed the corresponding files. I also wanted to add though that on my crossfire setup it was the 2nd GPU that was doing all the work before this fix while the 1st stayed idle, according to MSI Afterburner software on my G15 LCD display.

This is my current setup.

2X XFX5770 1GB DDR5 GPU Crossfire

I still have to use the dll fix or my FPS tank.

Odd, I just got the file about an hour ago. I wonder what's up. Server issue or actually pulled?

I found a working link elsewhere. Use the second link in the 4th post. (I tried direct linking it here but it fails. Using it from the following topic works fine. Not sure why.)

Yeah I finally got it...

I'll re-install drivers tomorrow and see what happens ( Driver Sweeper etc)

Hopefully between new drivers + hotfix + ATI dx9.dll tweak....it should run better ...I hope.

I got this, and did some community fixes and mine is running great! The GPU usage is weird. Sometimes it says 1 card is at 89% usage and the other will be at 50-70%. Then I'll load the game again later and they both say 30% usage the whole time. There is no noticeable difference in performance between the 2.

I had kicked things back to high but with the above mentioned fixes and hotfix I'm back to Ultra @ 1920x1200, 4xAA 16xAF, HDR. And no micro stutter/frame skip!!! :celebration: Even when it does drop in FPS now, it's not terrible like when I had to use iFPSclamp. 30+ FPS = 100% playable unlike before.

It simply looks and plays amazing. Especially when compared (looks) to my friends game on the PS3 with an SDTV. :yuck: (He's 35+ hours in with 1 lockup after the patch.)

Side note:

I just have to say I love those of you who take the time to figure these issues out and come up with fixes. (Not that this topic is about those.) You've always made my gaming experiences soooo much better.

Best community ever!

I honestly wouldn't use the DLL tweak, I tried it after it was running well with the hotfix and it made all the lighting really messed up. After changing it back everything was perfect.

If I pull mine I get lower FPS. Personally I've never noticed any graphical difference either way, just lower FPS without it. (Gotta love PC gaming huh? And I do if anyone thought I was being sarcastic! I enjoy a challenge.)

I'm seeing some FPS increases, but I'm still getting microstuttering if I don't set iFPSClamp=60. I really hope Obsidian or Bethesda works that stutter out; it makes the game darn near unplayable. Luckily, I can enjoy 60 FPS most of the time, but it's terrible when it drops below that threshold.

I have a single 5750 and am using the 10.10c hotfix. When i removed the d3d9 fix, the fps drops weren't as bad, only dropped to about 20 fps near npc's on ultra high. I put the d3d9 fix back in and it's running smoothly at 60 fps. The big difference I noticed while using the 10.10c hotfix along with the d3d9 fix was the micro stutter was gone. So yes there was improvement, but i guess the crossfire guys are the only ones who don't need the d3d9?

Nope. I have 2 5870s and I still need it. I can look at a particular camp with NPCs on screen with it and get 60+ (V-sync'd) but as soon as I yank it out I get 30 standing in the same place. If I look away out to the desert wastes it shoots right back up to 60. Look back and down it goes again.

I see this flickering as well but it only seems to happen around dusk in the ourdoors and in buildings with sporadic lighting. Has anyone found a reason for this or a fix for it?. Other than disabling Crossfire...

It could have something to do with the shaders being used? When I was messing around with the 3.0 shaders I ran into a problem with flickering.

This is off the Fallout 3 tweak guides. (Hes got such a great reference manual.)
http://www.tweakguides.com/Fallout3_9.html

"bAllow30Shaders=0 - If set to 1, this option will allow (but not force) the use of Shader Model 3.0 on graphics cards which support it, namely Nvidia GeForce 6600 or newer, or ATI X1000 series or newer. This can potentially improve performance when using HDR rendering for example. However to force the actual use of 3.0 Shaders after making the above change, you will also need to check your RenderInfo.txt file, found under the same directory as your .ini files, and near the bottom the file check which shader package it uses (e.g. Shader Package : 13). Then go to the \\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Fallout 3\Data\Shaders\ folder and rename that particular package to something else (e.g. rename shaderpackage013.sdp to shaderpackage013._bak. Now copy shaderpackage019.sdp and paste it back into the same directory, and rename this new copy to the package name your card uses (e.g. rename it to shaderpackage013.sdp in this example). This will supposedly force Fallout 3 to use the Shader Model 3.0 shaders in the game. In practice this doesn't appear to noticeably alter image quality or performance, so at best it might be used for troubleshooting purposes (Fallout.ini)."

When I was messing around with it, one of the files I tried made all the water disappear, one gave me weird flashing stuff, and one worked just fine. I really don't remember which is which. But it might be something for you to check out?

Also with the DLL fix it would change what it sees your graphics card as. Then it might use a different shader then what your card would use. IDK, just another guess... You can check C:\Users\(username)\Documents\My Games\FalloutNV\RendererInfo.txt with the DLL in, then take it out and load launcher so it can detect, then check the shader package again then reinsert dll and do the fix above. Hope this helps.

This can be fixed by replacing default atimgudlp.dll library with a 64 bit version.
I had to use this trick in Fallout 3 to get rid of HDR flickering...made the game unplayable.
I'll find out for myself when I install drivers in a few minutes...
