You dont have any other saves? An auto save, quicksave or manual save that isnt too far back?

anyway thanks for your post, though it didn't help a lot...

Yeah he just didn't want to be the one to crush you hopes here. It's just that a large part of what your asking- to have your save file personally repaired- it's not going to happen.

They addressed some of the save game corruption issues in the last patch but yeah it does seem like som possible means of save corruption were missed. Fingers crossed on that being completed in the next patch (said it was top priority so I'm guessing probably.)

In the meantime have you tried to find your ".bak" savegame backup files? It's possible one of them wil be working- you just have to rename it to a ".fos" file that doesn't already exist. So "workorelse.fos" is one that I usually go with.

Another option, depending on the version of windows you have, is to find a savegame file you tend to overwrite when you save or just use the entire savegame directory and right click on it.
Go to "properties"
then "previous versions"

If there is no tab like that or nothing appears in it then you don't have volume shadow copy service runing for that directory and what I'm suggesting will not be an option.
If you see a previous version of the folder or file then you can try to restore it. Hopefully it's not much more than a few hours prior to when you found out your save was corrupted.
If the most recent previous version does not work you can try the next most recent one. Of course, I would suggest saving a copy of your current save files somewhere else just in case none of this works. When there is a patch it MAY make one or more of them playable again (last patch actually made some of the corrupt saves playable again despite what a lot of people thought- me included)

Well good luck though- I did lose some time to a corrupted save and man I have been saving in multiple separate files almost religiously since.

Your quicksave overwrites itself everytime you use it. However, it creates a backup of the quicksave before it overwrites it. If you look in C:\Users\\Documents\My Games\FalloutNV\Saves
you should find the file quicksave.fos.bak. Simply move the original quicksave.fos elsewhere and change the filename on the backup by removing the .bak portion of the name. This should restore the quicksave backup.
The autosave works the same way. Try this to load as early as possible.

You really have no autosaves? It should autosave if you enter or exit a building or fast travel, wait, rest, etc. Make sure the options "save on wait", "rest", and "travel" are set
to on in the settings for future incidences. They can be a time saver. You should also do some manual saves. Dont depend on quicksave.

I had a corrupt save once and had to load another (had to redo quests and level again). I know how annoying it can be.

Beyond that though I'm sorry but I don't think you're going to get what you're hoping for. Also, if you want people to want to help you try not to do the whole "thanks for nothing" thing. We're not Bethesda employees. As the forum info states in the stickies- this isn't for contacting official tech support. It's players asking each other to help. It's understandable to be frustrated, you don't have to be rude to people who would otherwise want to help you.

i'll try it right away,thanks :)

for my post...i think you got the whole meaning wrong...i didn't mean to be rude,i was rather polited to thank him for the post...and then i told him that his solution didn't help me :)

anyway... i edited my post and i hope you edit it too as well.. :)

my apologise for you both, i didn't mean it :)

sadly, the autosave was corrupted by a game crash....and that's why i explained that i don't have one :)

for the other thing i apologised....but thanks for the rule anyway :)

Meh no problem I figured a little while after I had posted that that I had probably just interpreted the tone how I would have been saying it when I lost some savegames to corruption. I was not happy either.
