Just a reminder to ya'll this is a game, stop over thinking it, its pixels on a screen, enjoy it as i know we all will, but don't over think it, don't let it consume your lives, don't be waking up in a cold sweat gasping for air wondering wether or not that sword you saw was glass or elven, don't be spending 3 hours of your live's typing out a long lore friendly story why dark elves should be purple not blue, don't freak out every night because the guy two posts above you thinks that the water in the rapids looks better then the water in the cave, and for the love of god don't type out 400 words trying to prove him wrong. ITS JUST A GAME.

This is not just a game ... This is something much more xD I know I am a geek when it comes to :tes:
When I first saw Oblivion, I was amazed. Those graphics, open world, everything. I started playing it, and after 5 years of doing that, it started to become more boring and boring. I can still play it, but only with tons of mods, and still can't get that feeling I had before.
Before few years I started playing Morrowind, but not too much ... Yea I played it alot, but not enough, and not as much as Oblivion.
TES and Fallout became my favourite games and I became a huge fan of RPGs and especially the open world ones.
Because of these games I LOVE fantasy and post-apocaliptic themes. But since those are my favouite games, none of the other games can give me that feeling, and be that good. And since we saw Skyrim is coming out ... it is not just a game, it is much more. It is another world, we can explore, etc. And we just love talking about it. It is a fact, most of people here are kinda computer addicts and why spend your time doing something useless on computer if you can talk about your future favourite game. :tes:

So? Why does a game have less need for lore consistency, or graphical polish, than any other medium? There is a rather large gap between letting something take over your life, and the complete apathy you're suggesting.

The real question is, if it is just a game, why is the OP getting so worked up over people stating their opinion or desires about it? It is just a game, after all. Nothing to get so worked up over.

What? Don't spend 3 hours of our lives being creative, or anolyzing ideas, or making an effort to understand someone else's point of view, or figuring out new ways to deliver fun? No, thank you.

It's indeed just a game, which is it's whole point, being an interactive media of entertainment. I don't really see the point of a thread pointing out the obvious, though.
