Veronica's quest: Pulse Gun

Post » Wed Sep 01, 2010 11:01 pm

Okay so I've read that I can get a Pulse Gun at the Silver Rush. I can also get it from Vault 34 but I just went to Vault 11 and I don't want to go into one of those creepy dark vaults again :')
I hate all the animals and other crazies in there, and I get lost several times in one visit. So yeah, Silver Rush would be the more laidback option. However, I've waited for a lot of days ingame, visiting the Silver Rush everytime they refreshed stock, but for some reason they never have a Pulse Gun in stock. Is this correct? I'm level 9, do they only sell it on higher levels? I didn't do their quest, maybe that will increase their stock?

Pulse guns are on the shelf to the left as you walk in. Or they will be on the table in front of Gloria. You can steal one thing from them without them going hostile so I took that one. It's never in Gloria's inventory.

Thats where I was going wrong then, V34 is NOT a very nice place either.

Indeed it's not.
Spoiler
A radioactive labyrinth full of ghouls and you have to search keys in it.

The pulse gun you get there is just plainly cheating, though. Two-shots Sentry bots and BoS soldiers :ooo:

Ehh. That Vault was over-hyped. I just barged in with a Spacesuit, watched a video guide on youtube, and cleared that place out in 15 minutes.

Yes vault 34 is very over rated, Seriously. So many people talk about how hard it is and many say its easy, i agree with the latter half. Get like 10 rad x and 10 rad away (just to be safe) and a space suit or any type of suit with radiation poisoning and go on in. The armory in it is to sweet to pass up for a 5 or 10 minute vault.

Spoiler
I was under the impression that the Pulse Gun was only available in Vault 34's Armory inside of a locked footlocker (pickable)... huh.

That weapon is totally worth the trip down there though, the place really isn't that bad if you have a decent sense of direction. I'll agree that radioactive ghouls and a deep dark vault makes for some creepy ambience, more flavor to enjoy if you ask me! :icecream:

Anyway, Pulse Gun... weighs, what, 3 pounds? With an Energy Weapons skill of like... 28-32, I can one shot practically every robotic enemy in the game although I haven't had the luxury of trying it on a Sentry Bot, probably take two shots... but still. :goodjob:

You can just use the "grab" function, and "carry" it over to the restrooms, crouch to make sure your hidden and take whatever you brought and repeat. I cleaned the whole place out, haha.

If you can take out the Glowing Ones without them getting close to you, Vault 34 is a piece of cake. Each of those Nova Blast is 20-30 Rads (IIRC).

ROFL it takes more than 5 or 10 minutes, thats funny, it is hassle down there the first time, if you're not sure what to expect you need a good amout of firepower, plenty of rad x, rad away etc, radiation suit. i was able to figure it out the first time but i did use most of my med supplies, rad away, rad x, it took me like an hour in there i think, but i wasn't sure what to expect in there at all, and i did use a lot of med supplies down there, i went in there at level 8 or 9 so i didn't exactly have huge amounts of supplies or firepower.

The hardest part of Vault 34 when I attempted it was the halls full of glowing ones who can take hunting rifle shots to the face and live.

Cleared it with another character, the Glowing Ones went down with three HP headshots from a silenced 10mm, provided the first one is a sneak attack. The Overseer could've been a problem if he would've gotten out of his chair :lmao:
