[REQ] Lavish Mage Tower Teleport made SI safe

Post » Fri Dec 10, 2010 3:35 am

Tcho, your Lavish Mage Tower is awesome, but there's just one little bug. When you use the 'Teleport to Tower' function while in the Shivering Isles, you end up in "I HAVE NO GREETING" land, just as if you'd used player.coc to teleport out of SI without going through the gate.

Nightmist Manor has an 'SI Safe' teleport-to-house that apparently checks somehow if you're 'supposed' to be in the Isles or in Cyrodiil, and if you're not, flips the bit to the correct setting for where you're going. Could you do something similar for the teleport to the tower, if you're coming /out/ of the Isles?

Alternately, you could just disable the teleport to tower while in the Isles, but it'd be a lot more convenient if you could just zip across the realms both ways by having both mods installed. :)

I don't recall seeing Tcho check up here in a while. Your best bet to reach him is via his mod on TES Nexus. I know for a fact that he checks in from time to time, and he does read his messages there, too.

In the meantime, if you need a quick fix for this without getting into the CS, consider a magic mod that adds mark/recall.

Know any good ones? I know Supreme Magicka has one but I'm not using that; I'm using MIghty Magick right now instead.

Valdacil's Safe Haven is the last separate mark/recall mod that I know of, and cripes, try finding /that/ around any more. Plus, a bit clunky.

Ironically, I http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36026 a set of standalone mark and recall spells not long ago. More ironically, I completely forgot to add in the Shivering Isles bit that I added into the Nightmist Manor teleport script to prevent the I HAVE NO GREETING bug.

So uhm, gimme a few minutes, and I'll just fix that. :whistling:

Edit: Actually, ya know what? I have no idea off the top of my head how to accurately check if the player has ported to an SI location or not in order to set the flag correctly. Opened mouth, inserted foot, I did.

My favorite is Midas Astral Mark and Recall in Midas Magic, which gives 6 marks and is nicely implemented. It's of course not separate, though, as Midas comes with loads of spells.

@Khettienna, perhaps you could check how it's done in Midas as it works fine with SI.

Okay, after some sleep, it occurs to me I just need to check if the player is in the SE world when the mark is set, not when the recall spell is cast. Derp. I'll get right on that in my standalone Mark and Recall spells.

Meanwhile, here's this thing: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36510. Please enjoy. :)
