Hrmpff... The term 'beast'-race is rather insulting to us furries imo.

But you are right. I hope we'll get a picture or a video soon.

I hope they give them better hair

I hope there's at least 20-25 different styles of hair to choose from this time around, including BALD.

I want a bald warrior nord with a goatee so I can call him Goldberg.

Well good, that comment wasn't necessarily directed at you but more general.

I think they'll look quite incongruous with the Skyrim world and the sort of barbarian theme that's evedent in the photos we've seen so far. I think lizardmen and cat people will just look out of place. Perhaps commically so.

It's my hope that rather than lizardmen and catfolk simply being out of place in a classically barbaric/sword & sorcery kind of environment, they'll receive a redesign that makes them them fit better with that overall style. The only glimpse of the beast races we have so far -- the Argonian concept -- suggests that as well, at least to my mind. He looks more brutal, stocky and bestial, perfect for a lizardman of grim heroic fantasy.

There's no reason why the Khajiit can't be handled similarly; thicker-bodied, more powerful and compact of build than Morrowind's design, but more bestial than Oblivion's, with prominent claws and stronger tails. Something like http://media.giantbomb.com/uploads/1/17166/1259142-khajiit___desert_walker_by_snowskadi_super.jpg?

Yeah...yeah... Blah...Blah...

It's a mans-word, and I'm still offended. Call the orc-uglies and those slimy lizards what you want, but we khajiits are supreme beings and should not be labeled as 'beasts'.

Hell, we smell much better than you dirty humans!!!

*Meouw*

Khajiit has no more words for you...

Wierd...........hope u regret posting that...or maybe ur just grinning through ur cat suit....gehhh *shivers*

People keep posting that Argonian concept art. It's just concept art, and not even the focus of what they were showing at the time.

What Argonians actually will look like in game is still entirely up in the air. It may be dramatically different.

hopefully realistic fur for the khajit. And some kind of northern variety of Argonian (it that exists).

Basing this fact from 'The Infernal City' (if it is true to lore at all) there are a high variety of the beast races that we are familiar with throughout Tamriel (especially the Khajit). Therefore, we should see new breeds of Cats and Lizards, if not several.

edit: grammatical mistake.

I just had an epiphany on what Argonians should look like in Skyrim. The Argonians in Morrowind and Cyrodiil probably felt right at home in the more swampy areas of the two provinces but most of Skyrim is cold and ruthless. If you just took an Argonian from Oblivion and plopped him in TESV, he'd look very out of place. How do the devs fix this? Instead of making their designs that of a lizard with gleaming scales, transform them to look more dinosaur-like; tough skin, chiseled facial features, etc. To customize and play a humanoid T-Rex would be sick. I really hope they do this and make the race as a whole more badass.

Definitely agree with the dinosaur idea - thick, horny skin and an overall bulkier physique would do the trick. Different scale colouration in character creation would be amazing, too; I'd love to make a black-and-red or yellow-and-black patterned Argonian.

Or how about something like http://rivendell.fortunecity.com/obsidian/10/draconian.jpg (sans the wings).

Either way, I can't wait to see 'em.

True, but it is suggestive, and I do think that style (what we can gleam of it) would be fitting for Skyrim.

I think this will be one of their big reveals, a trump card! My speculation is they will be more beast like, and more angry looking :verymad:

I hope not! Why should they always look angry? Do cats always look angry? Do lizards always look angry?

Now, WHEN they are angry making them look beastly angry is perfectly fine for me. I'm just not a fan of "this is an anthropomorphic animal race, so they are always angry." The same goes for Orcs, I like depth.

Video of a big cat not being angry:

As for how they look, I hope of a middle ground between Oblivion and Morrowind. No crazy legs, but more paw-like fingernails and toe nails.

I'm really excited to see how the Argonians and Khajiits have changed. I'm personally hoping their body styles and features resemble Morrowind's style.

I don't care how the beasties look as long as I can continue wearing boots on them.

This thread is also pretty roleplay-heavy. I play an Argonian, but jeez, I'm not that passionate :P
