A mod for the non-adventurer

Post » Sun Jan 02, 2011 8:42 am

Im at level 2 using OOO and MMM and its very difficult to dive into profitable dungeons without dying. However im trying to make some money to buy a house without cheating, is there any mods out there that offer optional routes to earning money? Or any mods that will help me level without having to fight hard mobs

Gorangas Restraunt Jobs is probably still available on TESNexus. Choices and Consequences will make the Mages and Fighters Guild questlines harder to complete, but this mod also adds a sparring partner to the Leyawiin Fighters Guild, which is a way to increase your blade, block, and blunt skills for free.

Selling the loot is not enough? You could collect interest on your money with Bank of Cyrodiil. There are a couple other job mods too.

Better Cities has the Gold Coas Courier and you get money for making deliveries. Not much but with Bank of Cyrodill earning interest it would help.

Here are some things that help me in earlier levels:
Bloated Float quest - reward and the blade can earn a couple hundred gold.
The unfair competition quest has a magic mace in the moseleum which can fetch a thousand gold.
Go into Dreznot (hope I spelled it right) cave near the IC stable that has amazons. Have them chase you to the stables and have the guards and NPCs kill them. Amazons have great armor and gem loot. Worth a few thousand easily. This is not cheating, it is good stratefy.
Get Weklynd stones and sell them for aroung 100 gold per piece to Jensine and inthe Copius coinpurse. Dive into the ruin, grab the stones, sneak around, make money. Vilvering is a good place for that.
Dive into dungeons when there are guards and NPCs around so when the bad guys chase you they can help you kill them.
Make potions and sell them, Long process but builds alchemy and makes some gold.

And always put money in the bank. Believe it or not, the interest builds.

Hit and run at low levels is about all you can really do so get good at it. It is fun.

I'd say you're using the two wrong mods if you want to level without fighting hard mobs. That said, I would suggest using a companion mod. Companions help enormously if your character is dying too often.

Kreganir's Death quest is mostly "job" type quests.

Integration is largely just "brain power" type quests, but not many money rewards.... you do earn four houses one by one as the quest lines progress though.
