Pre-PyFFi'd Please :)

Post » Mon Jan 10, 2011 6:07 am

Yes, the UOP Supplementals have all been PyFFI'd.

So was the original UOP 3.2.0 but those meshes were last done with a relatively old version of PyFFI so it would probably be worth it for folks to run those through again.

Thank you Arthmoor. I will most likely re-PyFF UOP. Bad news though, my SSD just died today :( I will be out of commission with this project until my SSD is RMA'd.
Would be great if others could continue to let us know what mods are already PyFFi'd. I will continue to make my list based on your comments. Thanks

EDIT: Thought of a good idea to help build the list of PyFFI'd mods that exist in the community... I will be updating the OP dramatically today. Figure I can do something useful while waiting on that RMA process. Plus, work is extremely slow today. I will post an update with a new list soon.

@OP: this http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19911 used to only work on WinXP last time I checked... was the issue fixed later? the one that also makes the polygone overhaul usable without CTDs would be a godsend here.

That uses an old version of PyFFI. It would be better to just run the latest version of PyFFI yourself.

I know, the problem is that this laptop svcks and the polygone overhaul would be very useful, but known to cause CTDs. the patch on that page should fix that, but I'm pretty sure it's fixed by hand, not by pyffi itself.

What do you mean? PyFFI would offer greater optimization than the PyFFI patches... I think I'm misunderstanding what you are trying to achieve.

well those patches are special meshes that are basically the "difference" between the pyffied mesh and the non-pyffied one: you can apply them to the non-pyffied meshes to get pyffied meshes without the looooong waiting time that comes from pyffi. one of those patches is for polygone overhaul, and it solves the CTD issue caused by it.

problem is, I don't think this CTD fix is thanx to pyffi, I think the guy who made that fixed it himself. since I want to use the polygone overhaul, but I obviously don't want CTDs ;) , I am really interested in that one partcular file.

problem2 is that the tool used to apply those special meshes ( "pyffi automation tool" or something ) only worked on WinXP last time I checked, and I'm running win7 :/

The PyFFI patches are applied with a BATCH script. Also, I think there is an update to the Polygone Overhaul that doesn't have the CTD issue, or maybe that's only for SI... or maybe I'm confuseing it with an update for something else...

Waiting for PyFFI to do its thing is worth the wait. Just sleep on it or something. ^___^

Happy gaming!

well, I guess I'll give it a try and hope that it works with the latest pyffi. I've also found a spiritual successor to the polygone overhaul so that's another one to get.

thanx tomlong and happy gaming to you mate :)

I would discourage you to use them.

I tried them when I was not yet familiar with Pyffi. They would not work on the vanilla meshes from the GOTY edition of the game. Yes, strange but true. Since I have the GOTY edition that was the first problem. The next one is that their pyffi version is outdated today.

No forget that. Do the Pyffi-fication yourself with the current version. As Tomlong says, just let the notebook run overnight(s). Better to do it properly once and for all. It's worth it. :)
