Lycanthropes in Skyrim

Post » Sun Jan 16, 2011 2:49 pm

As interesting as vampires were, I think that a game feels incomplete if it has only a single subhuman race option. Morrowind did werewolves, and the setting and environment for Skyrim seems like the perfect opportunity to bring in lycanthropes once again into Elder Scrolls. From what I can tell, only two types of lycanthropes would be present within Skyrim's borders - Werewolves (which are all over Tamriel) and Werebears. Do you think it'll likely that they will bring lycanthropes back for Elder Scrolls V?

I looked at the first 4 pages and didn't see a lycanthrope/werewolf related thread, so I figured it would be safe to make a new one. I also figured I'd bring up werebears as an option instead of werewolves since they are known to be in Skyrim in large numbers. And thanks for the fishy stick, consider it ate.

Eh I was just generalizing, those subjects go hand in hand on these forums. Welcome to the forums though, I'd give you a fishy stick but someone already did, and I wouldn't want you to get fat from fried fish.

Yes I want werebeasts back, and I want to see bears and wolves. If it has to be one, I most certainly want bears. Hell, the bear variety is supposed to be the most numerous in Skyrim.

I want to see Werewolves and Werebears return. But I'm not sure how playing as a Werebear would be. Maybe have Wearbears around, but not playable. Or be able to select between Werewolf or Werebear.

I agree completely. It will also allow Bethesda to introduce new concepts to the game rather than rehash old subrace mechanics. I am sure vampires will just be the same ol same ol, I am interested in what kind of gameplay mechanics they would give werebears that would set them apart from werewolves.

They should bring back werewolves and vampires. I had so much fun as a werewolf in morrowind and in oblivion there were no werewolves but the va,pires were better than morrowind. if bethesda can't get these into the full game by the release date, they should include it as dlc.

Werebears are stronger and tougher than Werewolves, but not as fast/agile or as intelligent.
TES II: Daggerfall also had two breeds of Lycanthropes, as well as 9 Vampire Clans. The Wereboar was stronger/tougher than the Werewolf, but once again, not as fast/agile.

I think all the whiny "no moar werewolf thredz" comments are about as useful as a refrigerator on High Hrothgar. We get it. If you really want to protest a thread don't respond to it and bumping it to the top. Otherwise, add to the discussion or restate past ideas that are lost in the older threads that you found interesting.

Dido. The people infected with Sanies Lupinus are sentient beings and can cross a border if they want to.

Solshteim would be a boring pile of ice without werewolves. GO rant about the useless threads on Dragons, Dragon-born, fast travel. Or dumb voice overs.

Same as above. GTFO or post something usefull that won't generate flame. Simple. Don't like werewolves or vampires, then don't post about them.
