Drunk Effects and Streets

Drinking is a huge part of Nord culture. I expect something really cool on drinking alcohol in Skyrim.

I don't really care much about the drunken effect, but I like the idea of having a lot of streets and shops and so on everywhere. I think Oblivion had some of it, especially in Cheydinhal (Long time since I played, can't remember how to spell it!) and Skingrad, but would be nice with more. Actually, a bit more 'sqaure' towns might be good. Would make it easier to put the streets a part somehow. Maybe even to include street names!

I love the idea of blurred vision and walking funny but not to the degree of Red Dead Redemption where you fall on the floor constantly. I've been drunk off my ass several times in the past and never lost my balance.

It would be cool if varying degrees of drunkenness gave you different speech options. Like 2 or 3 drinks makes you more of a smooth talker but 5 or 6 drinks makes you annoying and giggly and 10 drinks gives you gibberish. And getting an NPC drunk might make them give up more info than normal.

I like just the decrease in intelligence or agility or whatever. blurred vision and stumbling is just annoying IMO. it's pretty hard to capture the feeling of being drunk in a videogame. The best thing to do is to get drunk and THEN play the videogame if you want that feeling... if you are 21 or over.

Wow is it 21 to drink alcohol at all there? How Draconian.

You raise a brilliant point though. I don't want the screen to go all fuzzy. Especially since when you're drunk that only really happens when you get rat-arsed, to use a lovely British expression :P

Yes! YES! and more YES!!!

Seemed kind of silly that in TES or Fallout you could down several bottles of liquor or beer and not have drunken effects.

Besides, maybe the ladies will look better.
