New to Oblivion Mods

Post » Fri Feb 04, 2011 4:51 am

I figured I'd start completely from scratch, new location, removed the old folder removed wrye bash, obmm, obse, boss and anything else Oblivion related. Redownloaded 1.33 and figured I'd start with that to make sure it wasn't my own attempt at patching to 1.34 that was doing it. Just on adding it to Mod Manager it said there where conflictions... which confused me... I've updated the game with the official patches and the latest unofficial patches for Oblivion and Shivering Isles.

...

I just wanted to say I'm a [censored]..... My game of the year edition for the Xbox included all of the DLC as part of a gamestop promotion. The PC version is only knights of the nine and Shivering isles. I was causing a compatibility issue by having OOO add flora changes to Vile Lair and Frostcrag Spire.... I fresh install without those two chosen resulted in a happy start up with me feeling like a [censored].

OBMM's conflict detector is rather useless so don't bother with it.

Ya, I tend to rely on BOSS and my own reading of mod descriptions for that... but apparently having vile lair and frostcrag active in the OOO install prevented me from being able to play. Now to resume the modding. thank you so much for the patience shown... It's not often to find such a place in the dreary wastelands of the internet.

Hm, the Harvest Flora bundled with OOO doesn't touch Frostcrag or Vile Lair so it seems odd that those would conflict. You need the Harvest Flora DLC patches to have HF in them. But not an expert on HF as I never use it.

BTW, you should use the standalone HF as it has a critical fix not included in the version bundled with OOO.
