Bosmer (Wood Elf) Look and Personality

Post » Sat Feb 05, 2011 10:42 am

I know elves are like magical creatures, but I wonder how having the long ears would be like. One of the things I find most annoying for myself is how my ears can get very cold from wind at high speeds.

In Daggerfall they were described as tall.

Too muscular for my taste, tree-huggers should be more lean and green.

Something along these lines would be nice:

But at the same time I want to stick to their http://images.wikia.com/oblivion/images/b/b8/WoodElf.gif.

I think that's because they use the same bodies for all races. At least the faces look more serious. Skyrim has differences with the body types, besides just tall or wide like how it was in the other games.

Haha, apparently they also have no genitals.. I dunno, I prefer to have more differentiated racial looks. If I'm not mistaken, in Daggerfall all the races look tall, toned, muscular. Also, when I said that Morrowind focused much more and was much closer to the lore, than in Oblivion, am I wrong?

Btw, I've only started playing Daggerfall this past month, trying to get into the TES feel again.

NOT TALLER ELVES! That's what the high elves are for. Wood Elves should be small, quick, and agile marksman. I would prefer more slender elves as well. The "blocky" and stumpy elves in Oblivion were quite annoying.

Yeah, I always thought wood elves were supposed to be shorter, but why did they make the guys so stocky? It's like they were trying to make up for the lack of Gimli-like dwarves, or something with the guy wood elves. The girl wood elves, though, were fine, except that it was weird that they were taller than the guys...

Ya i really hated wood elves in Oblivion. In fact I hated all the elves in Oblivion. In TES elves are supposed to be much more alien looking then humans. There not just humans with pointy ears. Wood elves are supposed to have solid black eyes, dark elves are supposed to have solid red eyes. Not just red irises. Elves are also supposed to more animal like then the human races. Instead they all sound like British snobs. The only reason I didn't play a Dark elf in Oblivion was I don't want to be something that sounds like Harry Potter. And I didn't play as a Bosmer because I didn't want to be the embodiment of annoying things. They just really need to fix the whole Mer species.

well the high elves are so arrogant because they want their divinity back, they are suppose to sound like british snobs, in fact, morrowind high elves even had strong british accents hehe, and i looove high elves, i never play with then, i just love then, but obviously argonian is the BEST!! and in the trailer there were a high elf looking ,literaly, like a alien.. hehe...its good enough to me, and she had completely black eyes, strange, since all the other elves has transformed from the ayleids elves, wich .. from what i know... don't have black or other colors full eyes, maybe the irisis, but the high elves pratically didn't change at all, so whats up with her eyes!@!

When I said annoying British accents I was talking about the Dark Elves, which aren't supposed to sound like that, but it doesn't matter. I think that elf in the trailer is actually a Bosmer if I’m not mistaken.

This.
Of those I've seen, I liked MW 's slender black eyed elves best.

I want the Bosmers to look more like in Morrowind so I can more easily make Fargoth in a mod and kill him with my new finishing moves!

You should be able to customize individual npcs bodies because it lets you in character creation, so you could try your best to come up with a Fargoth look if that's what you want.

I voted for Morrowind, but wouldn't have anything against something new.

I know it doesn't go with TES Lore but I think Wood Elves should look like they do in Lord of the Rings or Warhammer (Legolas is my prime example). Normal height, slender beings...not gnome/dwarf hybrids.

As for personality they should be noble, proud beings...not annoying, little rats that you just wanna kill for talking to you with their annoying voices.

BTW...how are they gonna do the normal finishing moves?...to slit a Nord or Orcs throat they're gonna have to jump or get a pile of books to stand on.

Tree-huggers? You know they are cannibals (own race and others), right? And about the Meat Mandate, which states that Bosmer shan't consume vegetation and only eat meat?

Wood elves are one of my favorite races in Elder Scrolls. I came across them by chance when trying to create a character opposite to my Nord and realized what a great race they are to use with sneak and marksman etc. They can sneak around undetected and take a opponent out from a distance without them even knowing it. They can jump up out of reach when threatened. My wood elf has become favored over my Nord when it comes to game play. They are so much fun.

I think it looks odd seeing Wood Elves with blonde hair with blue eyes. I imagine their homeland to be sunny and hot so I make my Wood Elf I guess to describe it as a more Mediterranean or far eastern look. I give them a more yellow / olive skin tone with black hair. I tend to think of Nords as the main race with the most blondes amongst their ranks. To me its what makes them unique. Seeing woods elves alongside Nords and having the same appearance just looks funny to me.

Only because they like plants to much to eat them.
