I personally think that the more horrific, bestial look fits better in with the fantasy setting of TES.

I think that's pretty good, but also pretty creepy. I think it would be cool to have some kind of like that, as well as some more human-looking vampires who are able to sort of blend into normal society, making it easier for them to prey on humans.... Like having more than one strain of vampirism, which I think they are sort of implementing, but I'm not sure in what way...

I also hate to bring that movie (which shall not be named), but technically they're not vampires by definition... Like in the sense that, sure, they svck... *cough* blood... and everything but chances r that sumwhere out there the def. for a vamp. woould be, "Creature of the night"... since they sparkle, they can go out in day and takes the entire meaning of the word / creature... But sorry all for talkin bout that...

:) Your explanation, though meant also to be funny and a guess, was probably more or less right on. You spoke with a psychologist's understanding. And though I have been joking right along with everyone else, I also feel some guilt at doing so, and pity for people who take non-conformity too far, to the point that they hurt themselves and also set themselves up for ridicule. And being made fun of/ getting attention, will likely only make it worse.... :shrug:

I would like vampires to be like that of 30 days of night. Or what was that movie where its set in Alaska? I like my vampires a little more beastial with razor teeth and long unkempt fingernails, I feel since this is Skyrim they should be a bit more brutal.

As much as I think the twilight films svck (which they really do lol), I seem to remember Bram Stoker's Dracula spending a fair amount of time doing his evil thing in the day. Seeing as almost every myth we have about vampires originates from that book, it's not soo outrageous that the tweenie vampires from twilight wanna work on their tan a bit

Most (if not all) vampires from classical literature can walk around during daytime. I belive that it was in the movie Nosferatu that vampires first burned away in the sun.

Also as far I know Vampires are slavic folklore, who also can walk around during the day, however they only hunt during the night since they're nocturnal like owls for example.

And its easier to not be seen feeding on someone at night where most are asleep, than daytime where most everyone is moving about. Which tyes into the nocturnal hunting patterns.

I have to dissagree with the OP and say I dislike here look as a vampire.

To contribute something, I just recently watched the movie "http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1139797/" and the American remake "http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1228987/" (which I didn't like as much as the original, if you haven't seen either I recommend the Swedish version. But personal taste will differ), I thoroughly enjoyed that movie's take on vampires. While there are some quirks about vampire lore that I personally find silly (like they can't age), that movie was a work of art and portrayed all of the vampire traits in a way that I haven't seen in any movie prior and likely will not see again the future.

I would rather like vampires in TES to be modeled after the one in that movie.

EDIT. Just to add further my opinion, I don't fancy the neomodern view of vampires with the Gothic overtones. I like to try and look at the vampire firstly from the viewpoint of, "What would they look like if they really existed? Would they live in modern society? Would they care about social dynamics?" I find the Goth view to be too immature and a naive take on how somebody that likely views themselves as above human and feeds on them for hundreds or thousands of years.
