Installing shaders - Are you using OBMM for it?

Post » Mon Feb 21, 2011 8:00 am

The question is clear. I have multiple shader packages: Detailed Terrain, Water Reflection Blur and more. Are you using OBMM to do that or is there a simple and nice way to do it in Wrye Bash I didn`t heard of?

The WiP version of Wrye Bash (or *A* WiP version, perhaps...) can do it, sure. The "Rel" version, however? Nope. At least, not as far as I'm aware.

I suspect most use OBMM for it, or just copy/paste "by hand", given that they're pretty much a different kind of thing (to textures, meshes, etc.)

edit: Oops. Well, I'm not sure if even any WiP version of WB can do Oblivion shader file edits. But you can use it to install ".fx" files, for example. So, yes but also maybe no. Probably no, I'd say, at this stage at the very least. If not, I really wish it could be added in...

I thought about saving the shaders (after being edited by OBMM) into a first sub-package and the original vanilla ones into a second sub-package to be able to restore the vanilla ones. This of course can get complicated and messy, if you have multiple shader edits...
