Hey, Bethesda, more secret passages and such :)

One of my favorite things in Oblivion was the secret passages and hallways leading to secret areas in many of the castles and stuff, I loved those. I'd love to see more of them implemented, even secret levers in houses hiding away a chest of valuables or something! :hubbahubba:

Definately loved this and looking forward to more of it. :tops:

One place I kept hoping to find a secret passage to a cave in Oblivion was behind the flowing water of a waterfall. Unless I missed it, I never found one. Maybe in Skyrim. :)
I was the exact same way.

I'd be happier with more puzzles and secret areas etc. ...if ... They were harder!

this!
this plus a fear element such as convincing hauntings, conspiracy, psychotic cults, hidden treasures..wow i can think of alot more.

also more hidden junk in general, like an ancient rusty old sword hidden away behind a large stone, the only way to enter is through a secret waterfall entrance that has you jumping your way up stalagmites to a rocky platform. you return it to its long dead draugr owner and you are rewarded with its twin sword fully intact.

just an example.

I'd love for more secret passage ways, but also more secrets or atleast hidden stuff in general. Gothic 2 was really good at hiding valuable herbs or interesting quests making it fun to explore caves and every nook and cranny of the forests etc.

while I'd like haveing secret passages is castles and such. I'd prefer traps to be [with rare exception] only to be found within dungeons. Though dungeons should definately have their own passageways.

In regards to the castles I'd like things like crawl spaces behind tapestries, levitating to ledges and gargoyles, etc. I'd like at least half of the entrances to be in the open [ie not behind bookssheves where you open it by taking out the right book]. Though they would be in hard to reach places where if you arnt on top of it you wouldnt be able to see it.

Heres an example, your levitating around a castle. You land near a gargoyle to replenish your mana for a recast you walk behind the gargoyle and see a gap underneat. you crouch down and crawl through the gap and then you notice a "chimney" underneath the gargoyle.

That said, instead of notes I'd like books with disguised riddles. By that I mean clues hidden in a book where if you dont know what youre looking fr you'll never find it. Clues can be hidden in a large number of books. so finding the right ones would be important.. heres an [bad] example from a poetry book [please note the flowery stuff is a disguise].

The lock to my heart is locked in love
the key hidden beneath the floor
locked in bars so cruel

i have wanted it safe for many a year
but on my death bed regret
that my heart was not unlocked.

written by the earl of earl.

Now if you've read a book about earl's great treasure you can deduce that it is hidden beneath the floor of his castle. The statement about the bars means it could be hidden in the dungeons. Now if you've read another book on his history stating that his bedroom [where he died] was one floor above the dungeons you could deduce its in the genral area around his bedroom.

One of my favorite gaming memories from back in the day was solving a murder in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Sun:_Shattered_Lands took me forever, only a little combat....something like the Canvas the Castle quest only a lot more interesting and dialog driven
