Bosmers should still be annoying, at least some. I can imagine what dragon shouts would sound like with the squeaky bosmer voice (awesome).

I rather my Abyss black-eyed don't F with me, amorous semi horny tree playing able to become monsterous beasts, non nasily sounding gnome reject that the lore makes them out to be........

+10000 support. It's just too weird when the lore present in a game is wholeheartedly and unaproachably different than the game itself... At least in Morrowind that reall Bamf Bosmer made up for it all somewhat, oh and I guess that high-level npc bosmer my character killed helped too.

Why can't gnomes be badass?

@ 38 seconds :)

Anyway, Bosmer men were always little punks in the game, but I remember the women Bosmer in Morrowind were more assertive. At least, that's how I remember it.

I would like to point out that the NPC Gildan in Ald Ruhn, Bosmer Night Blade, and Blades trainer, never utters a voice acted word.
She is the perfect room mate and I 'shack' with her while doing the Redoran House Quests.
Not all Bosmer are annoying. I understand the distinction having already been made between the males and females, but Gildan is certainly the least annoying in MW.
I love that girl.
I think they should keep the annoying aspect of Bosmer in Skyrim. It makes for an interesting and slightly comical diversity. I think that was the original point.

I always hated the male Bosmer, I went so far as to kill every single one in MW. The female Bosmer on the other hand are smexy little minx's, and I hope they stay that way in Skyrim. Altough I wouldn't mind a far less annoying VA for the males, but keep their personalities annoying.

I don't think only big/buff equals badass. I think a nimble sniper is badass, too. But like you said, they're comic relief. You say that's just the way they are according to lore, but others here disagree. I don't know who's right. I'm unfamiliar with lore outside TES3 and 4.

I never said they were comic relief, I said thats how they act. That is the way they are, the way they've always been. TC wants them to be like 'badass nords' etc. So what if a few people on these forums want to turn them into big buff etc. turning this into an action game? Not like Beth is going to change them, they'll be about the same as they were in Morrowind and Oblivion. Which is the way they should be.

why does evrything always have to be bad-ass with ya guys,

love flowers peace and happiness !

It's video game. If a character is all " Peace, love and happiness" and also can't do something useful, they probably will be disliked.

But on topic, yes I want some ultra accurate sharpshooter bosmer to atone for Maglir.

Okay, so you don't say they're comic relief (but you "inform" me that they are). I'm saying it's not that much fun to play as a race/six combo that's a joke/comic relief. Also, would some bosmer being badass snipers turn Skyrim into an action game (which I thought it was already.. action rpg anyway)? I don't want them to be at all like nords, but I'd like some notable non annoying bosmer males in Skyrim. Not every male wood elf should be great. Some should be lame. Some of all race should be a joke. I think Bethesda does a decent job of that. It's mostly the squeaky voice from Morrowind that killed them for me. And all the elves sounded awful in Oblivion.
I'm still curious about them in lore... Some of you make it seem that the games and lore contradict.

Where did I ever say or inform you they were comic relief? I never have, stop putting that in my mouth. I said they are hyper like Robin Williams. A little creature that small with that much energy, that mostly eat meat, that come from living in trees, would be hyperactive. TC said he wants Wood Elves to be 'bad ass like nords', thats what I was referring to. I dont know why you keep quoting me, Im not even talking about you.

I'm not trying to put words in your mouth. I am confused, though. So, you're just saying they're hyper. Got it. This quote, though, made me think you were saying the way they are and the way they've always been is comic relief (rather than hyper).
You also said that they were never a joke to you, followed by that's how they are (without referring to hyperactive, I thought you meant a joke). Misunderstandings are tiring. Sorry.

I always pictured the mer-folk in this way

Dunmer: Get by on martial skills and destructive magic

Altmer: Get by with magic/intellect

Orsimer: Get by on strength

Bosmer: Get by on stealth abilities/marksmanship and street smarts
