Daedric tempels?

Post » Sun Mar 06, 2011 11:25 am

Morrowind was An absolute epic dream of epicness.

And one thing about it was the Daedric ruins/temples. I do hope they return, they were a lot more common, and not all of them had ''working'' gods.

What do you guys want done with Daedra this time round?

Completely agree. I was really disappointed by the lack of Daedric Ruins in Oblivion. The ruins in Morrowind were truly..unique. And epic. It felt so "scary" exploring a Daedric Ruin. Fun times. ^_^

The people of morrowind used to actively worship daedra hence the ruins. I don't think they did in skyrim. This just means the ' temples' would need to be hidden.

Good, Good times :dmc: :run:

I love Todd Howard and all, Oblivion was great for a year or so, but Since he's been lead design, TES got more simpler and less unique-ness was involved :(

This, the statues out in the open in oblivion, wasn't really funny, but I don't thin the Nords worshiped daedra actively, but caves with the same feel/look would be great.

:nono: Now now, you can't say that TES is going a route based on ONE game. You have to wait at least 2 games, preferably 3, to come out before you make a statement like that...

Funny you say that, because Todd was the project leader for Morrowind, and if UESP can be trusted, he came up with the concept of Morrowind.

Now if we would put the drooling about the past aside for bit, Daedric temples could be found in Morrowind because Daedra were worshipped on the open there, while Cyrodill was entirely about the Nine Divines, Daedric worshipers are considered evil cultists, so they had to work with a single shrine.
Nordic religion is also based around the nine, they just call them in their own names. Only daedra with a uniqe Nordic name is Hermaeus Mora, but even he's considered as vile demon there.

So yeah, there won't be any daedric temples.

Daedric Ruins > (Repetitive) Oblivion Gates

I'm pretty sure ANYTHING > Oblivion Gates. I only went in them in my first play through. They were awful

If you had a mod that allowed you to set up camp, it was pretty fun. Trying to survive for multiple (ingame) days and wipe out all the daedra inside was a hell of a lot more fun than doing a quick run-through.

Meh, at a certain point they became too boring and while the sigil stones seemed like a good idea I never use them, even though I have the mod Sigil Stones Expanded and Extended, still took too long to get to, and was much too similar (though I understand why they were similar)

What do you guys want done with Daedra this time round?

"Don't call us, we'll call you.". I want the Daedra Lords to seek you out and invite you to their temple/shrine/whatnot in your dream, through a cultist or through a daedric item/artifact. Which ones try to summon you depend on what kind of character you play. Good guys get Azura, Meridia and Peryite, murderers get Mehrunes Dagon, Molag Bal and Boehtiah, rogues get Nocturnal, Mephala and Namira, scholars get Clavicus Vile and Hermeus Mora and so on.

I hope that, at the very least, they put the Daedric statues inside dungeons rather than just out in the woods.

Peryite isn't a good guy. He's a god of plagues, IIRC.

Well daedra have been a huge part of the lore, so I don't think they will be totally taken out. While I want to see a return of more daedra, I kind of want to see more of the Nordic Lords from where they came from or something like that. Have temples and Gods that the Nords believed in when they first where in Atmora.

I still would like to see the daedra incorporated somehow. I just don't know. I will wait to see what Bethesda has to offer!

That's just a rumor, though every Daedra lord's true intents are allways up for debate.

Deadric temples could easily be placed in the lore. ie hidden cults with hidden temples. im hoping for a couple of hundred fjords. easily enough to hide a small temple if the geography allows it [eg a bay almost enclosed by mountains]. or maybe just hidden in the mountains somewhere. its things like this that spice up a game.

Morrowind had Daedric temples because the Dunmer used to actively worship Daedra as their main pantheon. The Imperials never did, nor did the Nords of Skyrim. It would be nice for the statues to be a little more hidden though. Even though Cyrodiil is set to scale, and technically it would have been very difficult to find them in the wilderness, it didn't really end up seeming difficult.

None of those sound right. I don't think any of the Daedric Princes can really be seen as "good" from a mortal perspective, despite the Dunmer calling Azura, Mephala, and Boethia "the Good Daedra." The only one that sounds right is scholars getting Hermaeus Mora, but even then...

I don't really see why Daedric Princes would actively seek out a mortal like that. I'd prefer having to go to them and leave an offering, like in the other games.

Lore wise there actually is a daedric ruin in Skyrim, (that was also one of the ones in morrowind... ) so maybe we might have a/ multiple/ etc... daedric ruins

They Made Fallout 3 you know.....

just saying.

and Deadric ruins were BUILT by Dunmer as well as Deadric weapons in Morrowind, the Deadric weapons and Oblivion have two different origins, so no you won't see Deadric Ruins buitl thousands of years ago where the nords and Dunmer did not get along in Skyrim.

I would love to see them, and more of The Daedra. Especially, as one might expect, along the border of Skyrim and Morrowind.
