Paul Wedgewood FTW!

Post » Wed Mar 09, 2011 8:24 am

Ok, everyone knows Paul Wedgwood. Now personally i think Paul Wedgwood is the perfect game director. He reveals information about the game, but he leaves you guessing. Plus who gets tired of hear "Brink is and immersive first person shooter..." or hearing "BADASS!!."But also he gives information on BRINK. For instane he told us they were in pre-beta(no people that doesn't mean well get to play yet) and he always does interviews and hints differant information

W000t PAUL WEDGWOOD FTW!!!!

(P.S. im not a 5 year old little boy im 15)

I like him because he seems to know what gamers want. Hell, he even looks like us.

Lol that's because he IS a gamer. This guy started out playing Quake, and then became leader of like this HUGE clan. Then after he achieved BOSS STATUS, he's like "hey lets make stuff." xD

You cant beat a Brit B) .

If it werent for the Paul Wedgewood and everyone at SD, this game woulnt exist. And if another developer had a similar idea, it wouldnt be as good.

I have to say, the guy has a certain style to him that just screams gamer. He is also great at giving us info, while actually just repeating what we already know. I'm expecting to hear "2+2=4" at some point, then see a thread on it here somewhere, then laugh about how Horse and Wraith discovered a mountain of new info in the video on a screen behind him when he said it.

All jokes aside, I agree. He has great creative vision powered by his gaming history, and has done great work with Brink. No one is more fit for the job than him.

he just seems so down to earth with what gamers want, like in BC2 im tired of being revive out in the open only to die again one second later, so in brink, i can choose to be revived, just little stuff like that can make a HUGE difference. I have high hopes for this game, and im actually not worried about being disappointed, because i doubt i will

True. And to be honest, even if I enjoy a BC2 once in a while, I am still outraged at these gameplay flaws. Probably because I'm a more than seasonned player of ETQW, so I'm little forgiving for design mistakes showing that the game designers don't seriously play their games for more than 5 mn.

With Mr Wedgewood and Splash Damage's pedigree, I am very confident that all the details will be carefully thought out, tested and polished, and that they will keep only what WORKS.

I think this game can be epic, it can be just good, but it can't be bad. :)

I think the main reason is because he is a gamer himself. But he is awesome! Also, I watched a three-part interview with this other guy from SD, no British accent. I forgot his name... Could someone help me, maybe post a link to the interview? Anyway, that guy is just awesome! You know why? Because he actually dares to mention other games (NOT Bethesda) in his interviews, like Call of Duty. Not only that, he actually calls the games "good". Most designers are afraid to even mention other games (maybe because they think it would remove the people watching's attention from their own game?), but not this guy. I think that shows that he actually knows what he's talking about.

That's the only reason we have to wait until Spring '11... they are balancing the game, and making it look great. Months of play testing beats the week or so other companies put into it.

That might be the one with Richard Ham aka Rahdo and I always like hearing him talk about Brink.

This is a 4 part one you might be thinking of. Its dated but good.

Hey, I like that Rhado guy too. He seems really enthusiastic about Brink, and about giving us gamers what we really want. :disguise:  to not only those two guys, but to everyone at SD.

And Bethesda. :wavey:

Instead of "Olivier was right all along" on a sheet of paper taped to the back of his screen, Paul needs a poster suspended over his desk that says "I have an entire thread about how awesome I am."
