Monster Hunting

For those of you who have played monster hunter you know what i want and why i want it.
i dont expect it, and this is just a fun thread, so please be nice and play along.

In monster hunter you tracked and hunted down monsters to kill or capture, the goal was to collect their pelts as trophies, use their bones, hide, and teeth as materials for crafting gear.
this is great but not what sold me on monster hunter, alot of games have this, but what made monster hunter SPECIAL was the way you hunted.

you studied your prey, tracked their movements, found their dens, came prepared with traps and lures [sedative laced meat for the larger prey]. and much more made those games awesome.
the best part of this is that it was pretty damn real feeling, despite the ridiculous scale of some creatures you always felt like it was real, life and death, and the more massive creatures often made you run for your life.

now the reason your reading this, i want hunting to be an amazing experience that offers rewards larger than a deer, and make the experience alot more intelligent and force you to plan ahead. But truly massive exaggerated fights is not something i want. i think the dragons hold that position, and alduin will likely be as big as it gets assuming we get to fight him. however if the game allows for it i would like to see a few hunting mission that have you tracking down some awesome beasts like giant boars, werebeasts, a rare white mammoth [moral issue] [insert UNIQUE skyrim beast here].

[edit] hit submit too soon,
but thats about it, what do you guys think.

I always did like in some games how i could Skin my kills for various resources to make Armor/Weapons, or even for spell reagents. I had a few mods like that for my Oblivion. Go into a Oblivion gate, kill some Daedroths/Clannfears, and i can skin them for their hides to make armor (I even had to equip a dagger and hold up the corpse while slashing it in order to skin it). I also liked to wear the Huntsman clothing, go into the Bruma mountains for awhile with a bow and arrows, and hunt crap. Pretty interesting when i'd come across a Frost Giant or Minotaur Titan (Mods).

Yes! Monster Hunter was a great game...

<3 pitfall traps.

That would be awesome just making a big pit trap and luring a troll/giant/ogre into it, or even a dragon xD

I'm fairly certain you can grab a bow, shoot a troll in the ass, and sell its teeth.

I wouldnt mind if there were bounties to hunt both dangerous animals, and criminals.

not the same thing, that troll will probably have a basic routine. im talking about more illusive creatures that are harder to find and harder to kill. a real HUNT

Meh! These aren't bad ideas, I especially like the poisoned meat bit, but if this stuff weren't in the game, I wouldn't cry or anything.
