I've never played Daggerfall OP (I started in 2006 with Oblivion), but that system sounds really awesome. Much better than being denied the choice in having reputation and abilities fused with the various races. I often played as a dark elf, because it was one of the least ugly options, even though it wasn't always the best race choice for my class. That really wasn't ideal. It amazes me that an awesome system like that would be removed from later TES games, but at the same time I'm also not so surprised.. at least mods can fix such things.
