I here to talk about the glitches and i haven't read or seen a thread about it. We all know in oblivion their were so many. But with Skyrim being all awesome and what have you, i haven't seen anyone commenting on it. Not even Todd, i would of thought they address it in the series of GI videos. So are we (the fans) assuming that it will be better with the new 100person staff or just plain ignorant. I would like to think their will be minimal glitches but it would be nice to have reassurance from Todd or at least the developers.

Please, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but glitches usually aren't intentional - surely if they knew about them, they would be fixed? :)

Similarly, as this is running on a new engine, all the old glitches are gone. There will, of course, be new ones - but how many, and in what form, nobody will know until release.

I don't know, I think we all (including the devs) are hoping for very few glitches. I can see why they wouldn't talk about it, as it's really a given that they're aiming to not have a lot.

Considering that Skyrim is running on a new engine with new mechanics, it seems likely that we will not see the same glitches as we did in past games. Even if it were not a new engine, one would expect Bethesda to fix known glitches as much as possible. Now, that's not to say Skyrim won't have bugs, I'm sure it will, the larger team Bethesda now has may help them create a more stable game, but I have no dilusions that the game will be released bug free. However, there's no way we could know that this point in time what sort of bugs will affect Skyrim, so I'd say we really have little to discuss on the subject at this time.

We have to accept that there will be glitches.. but they have more people this time to fix them this time, even if they didn't spot them in the first place.
Anything which really breaks the game or makes it unplayable will definitely be fixed

Did you look at the "Making of Oblivion" videos? (They're on YouTube)

It showed there that each developer were responsible for his/her own bug testing. There were a guy or two that constantly played and looked for bugs, but it's hard for one or two persons to find all bugs.
Oblivion was being worked on until the very last week. Non-stop, it seems. They worked really hard and wanted to get in as much as possible. It's obvious glitches and bugs are bound to appear then, because you don't have much time to think things through and test them that much.

I personally don't think Oblivion had too many bugs, because when I first played Oblivion, I didn't really notice anything bad or gamebreaking or such.

I get the feeling that Bethesda have had much more time with Skyrim. To take things a bit slower, to think things through more and to test. That's the impression I have gotten. So I wouldn't really worry that much about bugs and glitches. I'm sure there will be some, but will they be so bad that you notice them a lot? I don't think so.

This is inevitable in a game of this size.
The gameworld is so large, there are so many options, that it is unfeasable to literally test every detail to destruction.

There will be places on the map where you can get stuck, there will be ways to completely break a quest.
There will be crazy things the AI does.

But I dont mind. Elder scrolls games are so massive and allow for such intricate gameplay that I normally dont even notice, or find ways to play around the glitches and bugs.

Oblivion was a little worse than Morrowind in this regard, you could irrevocably and unkowingly break the fighters guild quest line by entering a cave.
Morrowind had silly little things that didnt matter all that much, such as not being able to get the extra comfy pillow after youve completed the quest where you met the woman that later would hand it to you.
Daggerfall was.. amazingly buggy. The tutorial quest not working after you exited Privateers hold was indicative of the rest of the game.

But I see that as the little quirky habits you overlook with every loved one. I shrug and go: Thats my sweetie.
