Familiar friends, foes and fortress types Along The Borderla

I seem to have gone a bit poll crazy of late. Fear not. Tis a phase, and it shall pass. Nevertheless, I was curious about this. Despite Skyrim being a whole new experience, with Dwemer Ruins and Ice Trolls etc., should we not expect to find familliar things from earlier games, and maybe some unfamilliar as yet unseen things, from the places where the vast country of Skyrim borders its neighbours? Just as Bruma is somewhat Skyrim flavoured due to its proximity, should not the long Skyrim Border with Morrowind have lots of traits of influence and bear the signs of the presence of Dark Elves (archetiecture, customs, greater tolerance and prevalence of Daedric cults and familiarity etc.), with an increased presence of native Cyrodillic features along the souther Cyrodil border, and other differences in the regions that border High Rock and Hammerfell? Your thoughts?

In the far North of Cyrodil, the landscape becomes very Skyrim-like. I think the transition between cold, mountainous landscape and the forest-filled landscape happens within Cyrodil's borders so I don't think there will be many features of Cyrodil in Skyrim.
