Increasing stats

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 1:02 pm

I found this nice shotgun but need ST6 for it. I got 5. Where I can rise it to 6?

I am in Vault City, done the Gecko plant quest, going to New Reno.

EDIT: Also.. How can I get to Reno safely? I try to walk there but I always get ambushed by raiders or slavers that kill me in instant.

The only ways to improve your base stats are:
Chems (Temporarily)
Operations (not until the end game)
and perks (Improved attribute which I think is 12, and possibly Mutate if you havent taken gifted).

There is also a perk that increases your strength for weapons purposes only (I forget what its called).

I'm afraid you probably wont be using that shotgun for some time - Give it to cassidy.

As for avoiding encounters... Increasing your outdoorsman will improve the chance of avoiding them. Have you bought the car yet? Driving decreases the number of times an encounter is checked for.

You can use the shotgun anyway, you'll just miss more often.

You could take a Caravan from Vault City.

Powered armour also increases your strength.

That's weapon handling or something like that.
