Animation Loop

Hi everyone,

I' ve been playing Oblivion for quite some time now ( since release day actually) but it's the first time i encounter an "issue" that i can't fix (due to a massively overloaded oblivion :hubbahubba: ).
The game run smoothly until, suddenly, for no apparent reason, the character get stuck to an "falling animation". I mean it's like he fell from a short height over and over again (up and down, up and down, etc...) First i found it hilarious but after a few session not anymore :banghead: (if a companion is with me, he got the same treatment). Strange thing is, if i go backward, where i was before the bug strikes, it comes back to normal (for a time anyway) because as soon as i walk "forward" again the issue shows its smiling face again.

So to make a long story short (and stop having you bearing with my bad english too much...) has anyone encounter this strange bug ? My mod list is pretty heavy (and i merged a lot of mods) so it would be useless to post my load order. So i was just curious if anyone got the same thing.

My hint is a script got stuck in a fatigue mod i use but who knows ?

Perhaps YOU

Thx Tofolo, unfortunately 1. I just started a new game and 2. it's not really animations slowing (doors or fire) but rather one playing ad infinitum...(character stuck falling up and down in mid-air)

Did you use a tweakguide?
As far as I can tell some of the ini tweaks proposed caused some strange bugs in-game.
I remember about somebody with your same problem, but I can't remember what line in the ini he changed to make this happen.
Can you post your ini in the spoiler tag so that more expert people can see it?

EDIT: I just remember that the problem accused by the other guy was in the IC Isle

uGridsToLoad in the ini caused the LOD content to bounce, but not NPC's.

It's not unusual to find an NPC drop to the ground if the editor position he's defined for was above the ground, but that would only happen once as you approach and not the repeated situation you're seeing. I can't think of anything that would attempt to restore the characters to editor locations except constant re-evaluation of an AI package that has them Wander at Editor Location with a radius of zero. That would not apply to companions, and would also require a script bug in a mod to force it.

Sounds like maybe a mod has replaced the file(s) Data\Meshes\Characters\_Male\walkforward.kf and/or walkfastforward.kf

Check to see whether these two files exist in your Data folder, and if they do, temporarily remove them or rename them and see whether the problem goes away.

Sorry guys, I was away for a while...

Thx for all the hints, unfortunately it seems to happen at certain times and in certains parts of the world (randomly as far as i can tell). It's why i think it's part of a overwritten script. I 'll investifate further and let you know if i find something.
