Dragon tails

Post » Wed Mar 09, 2011 1:05 pm

At the end of the trailer, the dragon that flies away from the ruin flaps its tail in tandem with his wings and if you get a look at the frame in the trailer, right before it switches to the frost wraiths, you can see the dragon's tail as it takes off.

It has skin membrane like the wings do. Mini tail wings. Weird, yet I actually think it's an interesting idea. Seems to be in line with a dolphin's tail.

Discuss! :ahhh:

If a dragon's tail is integral to its flight, does that mean we won't be getting tail whipped?

How else would a dragon lower our defense.

Exactly ;D

I mean to say that it would try to protect its tail just like it would its wingss

not by the tip of the tail. by the thick armored middle and base almost a certainty. what im really worried about tho are those railroad spike sized teeth held within that cavernous fire breathing maw :flamethrower:

They fly by magic, otherwise only stupid Dragons would use tail-whip attacks

They could grow back their tails and heal up holes in wings, etc.
Otherwise old dragons would be limping around in the forest, waiting for heroes and other monsters to pick them off.

Speaking of accessible mountain vistas, dragon carries you to its den to feed its babies, that is access...

It looks more like the that the tail is just swinging up and down due to the wing beats to me. And the "flaps" look more like barbs.

I was thinking that same thing as I was reading and then I see that. These dragons don't seem anything like toothless. They just have their wings, no other fins. Still I hope you can shoot at their wings to ground them.

I wonder if you can even block a tail attack. You'd think a 20 ft. dragon would be able to easily swat a human away.

Shinies? Wine? Low cut tops?

I can't stop thinking about Firkraag. Something intelligent instead just another damn big monster to kill.

Didn't see the video, but if they have a joined tail, so it's like a bat's scoop that can scoop you up and right into its mouth ;)

And yes, I hated that show as well, we hardly ever had it on in our house...but one fo the books made it in :shakefist:

There is more than 1 type of dragon in Skyrim. Just look at the finless tail in the background of this forum.

I'm pretty sure you're thinking of Tail Whip instead. Dragon Tail throws opponent's pokemang/fighting petslave out of the way and forces them to switch to random pokemang in their team. Like Roar (Fus-Ro-Dah!), but it hurts.

lol sorry for the off-topic-ness!
edit: I had this impression that the dragons come in different variations (subspecies?) in Skyrim. The tail seems to be one of the differentiating features.
