To the developers

Hello,

First off i would like to let you guys know that i am eagerly waiting along with a milion other people to get our hands on this game! When I bought the 360 years ago one of the first game i got was The Elder scrolls: Oblivion. I saw the game in the retail shop and after looking at it for a while i decided to buy it. And boy oh boy what a game that was and it still is! Never in all my gaming career i came across a game where i have spent so much time on in the sinleplayer. And without doing any research before i was absotuly shocked and awed when i did my first baby steps in the world of Cyrodill. I Never expected there would be so much content in it. I must have spent over 300 hours in it and I never got bored of it.

After years i finally decided to join this forum to talk and discuss about Oblivion and Skyrim because we all share the something in common! A passion for the games that you guys have made. After watching some videos that were about the sounds and artwork i am completely sure about it that this will be a great game! The guys that were talking about their work did it absolutely brilliant.Only by watching their face expressions and the way the talk you can tell that they have put a lot of love attention into this game.

Well done guys, Keep up the good work!

Kind Regards,

Welcome to the forums :)
I first felt like this when i first played morrowind, that game had a big impact on me. Then oblivion came out, that to svcked me in,both great games in my opinion. The scale and freedom you have is amazing,in fact it feels that good ,that when you play a game that doesn't have the same freedom it just isn't the same. That not to say there isn't any good games because of that though.
Even though it has a main story or quest,we can still do what we like, roleplay a hunter,farmer,whatever....it's great.

I also agree, that they ( bethesda ) seem very confident about the game. I've picked up the same feeling watching interview's etc. I'm really looking forward to skyrim, and although we have way more to know yet,i have a good feeling about this game. From what i've read so far,i've liked the direction they have taken with this game. To me it as it's own flavour/ideas,but i also see hints of oblivion and morrowind in there. Your post proves what bethesda tried to do with oblivion, and that was to get a bigger audience, and boy,did they do that. It's a bold statement, but i said a while ago, this game as epic written all over it. It's maybe too early to state that, but it's rare i get that feeling with games nowadays.Sometimes you just know when a game is going to be good.
But as i've said, you do get the feeling bethesda are excited about this game as much as we are,you get the feeling they have really stepped it up this time.

Once again welcome to the forums, and it's nice to see someone that appreciates oblivion for what it is/was,in the time given.....A great game :)

*Edit* I take it you've seen the gameplay trailer?
If so,what did you think?

On fishy sticks, can I have another?

It's not in good taste to ask for more fishy sticks...

Exactly. I never even got one, and I've been here for a marginal amount of time.

Ditto, minus the marginal amount of time part.

As for the topic, I am also eagerly awaiting the release of Skyrim. Of the various games I own, I have tended to play my Bethesda titles more than any of the others. I look forward to adding another one to my shelf and to many years modding and altering it (that's half the fun, after all).

Yeah, when I first stepped out of the sewers and into Cyrodiil, I was blown away by the beauty and magnificence before me. (They did an excellent job with making that your first outside view of Cyrodiil.) The way it is played, the beauty of the land, and the scores of possibilities make TES the greatest game series ever, in my book. I haven't played Morrowind enough, but I've played Oblivion so much, I'm starting to believe I actually live in Tamriel....

I know exactly how your feel except with Morrowind, back in 2006 when I first played it I was just amazed at the entire world that Bethesda had created. I probably have about 500+ hours worked into that game between playing and modding. When Oblivion came out I was ecstatic, it was the first game I had ever anticipated or actually followed before the release. The game was great for a long time, probably have about 200+ hours in it, but alas I'm the same as the Majority of the "MW fanatics" and lost interest in it. I still haven't finished the MQ or half of the faction questlines in Morrowind :P

**Please do not turn this into an "OB vs. MW" thing, dont get me wrong I'm not saying OB svcks, I love both of the games.

Same here. Maybe everyone was on vacation when I joined. :) Question: Can I welcome others with Fishy Sticks even though i don't have any?

Welcome to the forums from my little corner too and I couldn't agree more that the devs deserve a great big thank you. I include the devs for all the Fallouts too because I love the games I've played just that much...it couldn't even fit in here.

Bring on Skyrim...I'm so ready. :) http://skyrim2011.info/

When I first started MW I was amazed. Huge world, great game. When I started Oblivion, I was doubly amazed because of the graphics, even though they messed up my beast races :meh: . I can"t wait to be wowed by Skyrim. And how did this turn into the fishy stick thread?

I started with Oblivion and I'm now playing Morrowind because I wanted to learn more of the lore and a good friend surprised me with it as a gift. :)

I can tell you this: After playing Oblivion, FO3 and FNV, it's slower moving and there's a LOT of reading. At first, these things put me off. I like the action of the later games. Something I'm getting used to is no compass. You can see which way you're heading though...there is a map. Also, I'm learning to play on a keyboard since my gamepad won't work with it like it does for FO3 and FNV. I love my game controller but this is ok so far. I'm not dying as often now and I'm still level 1. The wiki lists the differences on a page for that so you can evaluate. So after mentioning those things, I'm *very* glad I'm playing it. It's beautiful and I know the story is deep and I want to learn it. I hope this helps you...I'd say yes, get it.

And thank you badprenup. I feel welcomed all over now and I'll pass along any extras. :)

The fishy stick is a weak tradition. I didn't get one, either.

After Morrowind hooked me, I was blown away by the Oblivion screens. I was excited to play in a setting that was a tad less exotic. I got my fill of traditional fantasy, and I'm ready to spend a few hundred hours somewhere between the two. Hooray for Skyrim! :tes:
