In those cases though, over generations, they have readapted and miss interpeted their own history to their current lives, it happens all the time in the modern world now, so why is it hard to see it happen in a world where eveyrone becomes isolated? Just think of that "telephone" game where you start with one rumour/saying and by the time you pass it to about 30 people, the last person has heard a different thing all together.
