I'm just curious and would like to see a demo of Skyrim at Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Anyone heard of a demo coming? By atumn or late summer maybe?

Probably not, at least not before launch. I do believe demos should be made available for all games though. Bioware managed to make one that even imports data to the real game, so I don't see any more excuse for "This game wouldn't work as a demo".

Making a playable demo of an Elder Scrolls is simply impossible.

What do you include, a dungeon? To show combat? Elder Scrolls is not only combat.

Nooooooo! I want to play a demo of the game. :(
Very well, I guess that will make the full game more exciting.

Yeah, it's kinda pointless. They did it for Daggerfall though.

How do you make a demo of a game with almost limitless possibilitys and a huge map you'd have to restrict someone to a city or similar in which they could still have hours of gameplay so there is a problem there especially if a quest asks them to leave the city but they can't the idea to make a demo is almost as much work as making a city in the game

I doubt very much that Bethesda will put out a Playable Demo. Unless they change their whole approach and put out something like the 'escape from prison' section. Which they won't.

They could be tweaking dynamics till the very end...

Bethesda has built up enough street cred that they don't need to release a demo to convince gamers their game will be good. Gamers have faith at this point. Well earned faith

A physics demo could actually be fun. A room with different random stuff. The player with a sword and a fireball spell. GO.. But i agree that a normal demo would never work and the programming would take to much time away from the actual game. !

I'm on my phone and don't know how to link to twitter. I assure you it's on his twitter feed though.

Daggerfall was much easier since they had generated locations. The first demo was a sealed dungeon which I sunk a lot of time in to, the second put you on a small island so you really did get a good feel for the game itself. However now that Bethesda relies more on hand crafted locations a demo would be difficult to accomplish.
