What Console?

Post » Tue Mar 15, 2011 10:09 am

I will be playing on xbox for a few reasons, The controller lay out is more comfortable than the PS3, im a console gamer so PC is strictly for my web surfing habit, I like the 360 interface better, plus 360 runs TES games smooth enough for me not to complain to much, and Im just in love with my 360, my PS3 gathers dust for the most part, this year is a little different as PS3 has a good line up of exclusives.

Xbox 360 seeing as my laptop over heats when i'm running morrowind. Plus I like me my achievements, granted I'd do everything in Skyrim even if I didn't have them.

well atm i have a pretty decent pc but im upgrading for battlefield 3 so i doubt i'll have skyrim running under 120 FPS maxed out..

getting
MOBO : Asus 1155 MAXIMUS IV EXTREMEB3 P67 rev3.0
Processor : Intel 1155 Core i7-2600K 3.4Ghz OC
Graphics : 3x Gainward GeForce GTX 560 Ti 2048MB "Phantom"
RAM : 4x 4GB Kingston DDR3 1600MHz HyperX
SSD : 2x SSD Kingston 2.5 64GB SATA2 V series desktop bundel
HDD : 2x Western Digital 750GB SATA3 Caviar Blue
PSU : Cooler Master 1000W Silent pro
and some more accesoires

its going to be custom made by my self
for 2100€ and until summer i think it'll drop to +/- 1800€ ( hopefully )

for those who need a PC under 1K $/€/...
Case : A Coolermaster for under ( 80$/€ )
MOBO : Gigabyte 1155 GA-H67M-UD2H-B3 or anything under ( 120 $/€ )
Processor : Intel 1155 Core i7-2600K 3.4Ghz OC or Intel 1155 Core i7-2600 3.4Ghz ( 280 €/$ )
Graphics : Gainward nvidia GTX560Ti 1GB PHANTOM ( 250 €/$ )
RAM : 3x Corsair DDR3 1600Mhz 2GB DHX ( or any under 80 €/$ )
HDD : Western Digital 500GB SATA3 Caviar ( 50 $/€ )
PSU : Corsair 650W ( 70 $/€ )
DVD drive ( under 30 $/€ )

and you'll be around 1K €/$ and you'll have no problem with any game except battlefield 3 and if u feel u must max out BF3 aswell just add another GTX 560.

PC. Got a pretty good gaming PC built last year, and Oblivion runs great with it even with 200+ mods. Skyrim is gonna be even more amazing with all the new opportunities for the modding community!

I ran OB (and still run heavily modded MW) on a "mongrel" PC that I've been gradually updating since the 1980s. I think the only "original" part left is the power cord. By the time Skyrim comes out, a quarter of it won't be the same as what I'm using now, which is about the fastest of the AMD single-core processors from about 2 years ago. Since neither game (or anything else I ran until very recently) supported dual-cores, there was no advantage to getting one. The MB supports a quad, though, so I'll probably drop another processor in it this summer, and perhaps another video card.

Oh, total "price" for the setup was probably in the $5-600 range at the time for all the pieces, plus "do-it-yourself" labor rates.....$0. Another $200 should bring it up to current specs for another year or two (it seems to cost $100-200 per year to stay semi-current), and it should still run a few "golden oldie" 20+year-old DOS games that I still play on rare occasions, with a bit of fiddling (who needs "graphics" if the gameplay is great?). Compare that to the cost of a console, which you have to replace completely every so many years, and which obsoletes half of your game collection, and there's not that much difference in cost over the long haul, as long as you can do the upgrades yourself.

360.

Because I never have to upgrade my console. Because sitting on a couch is way better than sitting on a chair. Because a controller beats a mouse any day of the week. Because my PC will never be good enough to run it. And most of all, because I sit in front of a computer all day long for work and it's no fun after that.

buy a OP(over-priced) console in 10 years, ($500-800), almost every PC game especially multi platform games can use 360 controllers by default also can plug it into a 42' TV like i did for awhile and sit in a chair.. your reasons fail my friend xD

360 because the TV I use when I play is far away from me (2-3 meters) so I don't care if the game's not as beautiful as the PC version
The other reason is the I can't upgrade my PC because of familial and budget reasons.

Haven't got any RRoD since I bought it in 2009
Maybe it's because I clean it a lot and don't play a lot of it.
