This is true--a cloak is a hooded cape. So, a cloak has to have a hood. I think there should be both, but I would always use the cloak. However, I would like to have the ability to put down my hood & have it draqed over my back, if possible...

Yes. We should definitely be able to wear the hood up or down!

edit: Strange to quote dictionary.com and then not give the definition...

Cape - "a sleeveless garment of various lengths, fastened around the neck and falling loosely from the shoulders, worn separately or attached to a coat or other outer garment. "
Cloak - "a loose outer garment, as a cape or coat."

Agreed. And I want different colors, and also plain ones, ragged ones, and fancy ones. It...would...be...sweet!!! :P

Well the trailer did show a hooded cloak like thing, and it had a lot more in terms of detail than oblivion. There were things like item pouches attached to the cloak, and the hood looked a little more naturally attached rather than a stiff thing you put on your head. It looked awesome. ^^

I, personally, have no interest whatsoever in cloaks, capes, hoods, or robes. But as long as they're optional (i.e, you won't be sacrificing anything major if you ignore them), whatever they do is fine with me.

Oh yes, I forgot about that--it's such a brief clip. I hope this is a sign that we'll see cloaks of the sort I have among my costumes. That would be grand! :D

I like cloaks of this sort because they are historically accurate, and also very mystical.

First one's a robe/cape. I was thinking more along the lines of http://i51.tinypic.com/15hiujm.jpg.

Are you guys talking about the robe? Or was there something else?

Yes. It's just something I've always done, although please no stats or enchantments on them. Ever. Not even by players enchanting them. We don't need it to end up like Runescape where everyone who's not an NPC wears one...

No, the image in the link is a cloak, not a robe. I have that in my collection, and it is most definitely not a robe. It has a single button at the neck, and it's open the rest of the way down. It's very nice, and I love it.

Yes, it is a definition.

But it is not the definition from dictionary.com. I see now that it is from further down the page, but it's a bit strange to not use the main definition - unless your purpose was to draw attention to the fact that 'cloak' was mentioned in your definition?

I meant the reference to the trailer. I think it's a robe in the trailer. I don't think we've seen cloaks, yet. I'm hoping they're in, but I doubt Beth will add cloaks without cloth physics.

i would like to have the option of wearing a cloak but i most likely wouldn't. i think that the armor a character/person wears defines them. the only time you'd see ur cloak is in 3rd person and i think having a cloak on would not show off my badass armor as much...
i'm all for it though! especially if they look freakin DISGUSTINGLY awesome!!! :D

Ah, okay. My bad! :P

No, I haven't seen anything that would actually confirm cloaks, that's for sure. It would really be awesome if they add them, but I guess all we can do is cross our fingers. :pinch:
