[RELZ/WIP] Cyrodiil NPC Remodeling Project

Post » Wed Mar 16, 2011 12:51 am

Petrus you mean OOO/FCOM/Arm uses CNRP's resources, or that's there's a CNRP release (I haven't found it) enhancing OOO/FCOM/Arm?

I mean there is some overlap in the resources used.

Is it me, or does CNRP not play nice with OBSE 19? Ever since I upgraded to 19 final, I've had crashing issues and CNRP 4 OOO won't import properly. I narrowed it down to CNRP and disabled them (I have all 5); I then played for an hour and a half straight with no problems. I reenabled them (after having saved a few times, it was effectively a clean save), but again - they won't import, and I crash every 10-15 minutes. So, I guess I'll just leave them out for the time being. :(

Hm...I wonder if one of the functions I used got deprecated in this new OBSE. I'll go check it out soon and see.

I got them to import (finally) and the game seems to be stable... but nothing's showing up. :( This is really weird.

I finally got it to work properly. I guess if you clean save enough times, Wrye Bash gets the hint. :P

Edit: Okay, it works but the inventories won't import properly.

I tried using these mods but I uninstalled them all because they caused significant FPS drops and performance issues. It's a shame because it's a good idea. I also thought some of the NPCs were too altered and over the top. Casta Scribonia had red hair and glasses - she looked like a punk!

Have you tried optimizing meshes with the new Pyffi 2.1.6?

This character hasn't been done yet but I just wanted to show this off. I found this neat little gem inside of Slof's Beefcake Armors. It's a set of bracers/gauntlets that have lockpicks secured at the top!
These will go on all trainers of Security, so keep a lookout for them :3.

Just a quick note if you want to use the faces and inventory, perhaps the bash tag for faces could be added to the plugins.

Also, are the faces exactly the same as tnr or are there some tweaks?

I believe the author only meant this to cover clothes and recommended using TNR or a TNR variant such as is available with RBP.

I was just thinking of this after discovering a better version of http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1151411-relzbeta-npc-new-clothes-more-realistic-clothing-choices/. It looks like this will never get finished, huh? So sad, I haven't tried it yet but based on the screenshots it looks like the author did an incredible job. I'm hoping maybe some intrepid clothing specialist will come across this and try to pick up where the original author left off *hint hint*. I'd try it myself but I've got so many potential mod ideas I want to try my hand at already, I'm afraid it's pretty low on the list. But really, a completed version of this will make that other mod I linked obsolete. I can dream...

I think they work great together.

As posted in the other thread these are easy to merge with Gecko and it might not hurt to run the dark brotherhood meshes through PyFFI.

I just want to confirm--some of the NPCs modified by this carry lanterns now instead of torches, right? I also saw candles mentioned earlier in the thread as well, but I haven't seen those yet. I've really beefed up my NPC diversity in the last few days with the NPC New Clothes mod I linked, this wonderful [yet sadly incomplete] project, and I just added a capes mod. I don't see why the other two would add lanterns so I'm assuming they belong to this, heh. It just took me a while to notice them.

And although I'm sad this won't ever be finished, using NPC New Clothes in conjuction with it means you rarely see repeated outfits, so while the NNC selections don't have the same level of detail and care, at least just about every NPC looks pretty unique now. Oh, and I almost forgot the ClassyClothing mod that gives NPCs new color variations of a couple dozen vanilla clothing textures. So yeah, with three mods diversifying NPC clothes I think I'm pretty satisfied, heh. And that's not even taking into consideration TNR, Unique Features, and Comprehensive Style Collection, all three diversifying the faces. It's almost insane how many options you have to diversify NPCs actually, and totally incredible they somehow all work together.

I'm still sad this was abandoned, though. Because even though I just flooded my game with a million new outfits on NPCs it's not hard to pick out the ones added by CNRP, they're very unique.
