Gamesave from oblivion, beneficial for Skyrim gamesave?

the idea is that you start as a nobody with nothing to your name. maybe you could have an option to have something from your oblivion game, like a guard gives you something from the evidence box that belonged to you, like a sword or a letter from someone you have to find to find out your heratige before you go see the grey beards.

New game, new character. Unless you'd like to play some 200 year old geezer sitting in front of his porch all day shooing dragons off his lawn ;)

Also there would be a lot of problems in trying to import gamedata of that type in a game that utilizes not only a new engine but also new character generation system and skillset.

Look dragon !!! This is my BOOMSTICK :gun:

I want that please. :D and a NPC with a real clint eastwood from gran torino kinda attitude. Get of my lawn !

No.

Mass Effect 1-3 is much more closely related with each other than the TES games are, as Todd said they make a completely new game each time and not just a sequel.
You could say that the ME series is like a chapter in the ME universe, while Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim are standalone chapters in the Elder Scrolls universe (:P).

Besides, there's been 200 years since Oblivion. Trying to implement the echoes of any choices you did in Oblivion to Skyrim would just be stupid.
First of all, it wouldn't really matter since it happened 2 centuries ago, secondly the Champion of Cyrodiil became Sheogorath. Whatever he/she chose to do 200 years ago will not effect you in any way,
as you are a completely new character.

I wouldn't want to see something like that, honestly. It's 200 years later and in a different country, right?

Though if you want to roleplay someone with that kind of inheritance I'm sure they will have console commands, just give yourself a thousand coins?

I doubt they'll ever bother to waste that amount of time pleasing 0.1% of the playerbase.

I think it would be good in some ways, but nothing to do with my actual Characters, like decendants etc.

I think it could work with some of the decisions you made in oblivion like if you returned Unbra then in Skyrim Umbra would only be available in a quest from the dearda lord, if you kept it it could once again be awarded through a fight with an overpowered umbra character.

Just little things like that.

If you were archmage then it would be good to reference your character in the in game lore as the archmage that disbanded the mages guild etc etc

But if any other players are like me I have 20-30 different saves and this would be a mess to decide which to use for the import. I think it would be to hard for the little effect it will have on Skyrim

I wouldn't mind finding a tomb of my old character, or perhaps some of the key items he had from the story in a museum someplace, but considering the time and location difference from Oblivion, I'm going to have to say no.
