I'm waiting for my man.

There have been drugs in last two Elder Scrolls games in the form of skooma and moon sugar, but i don't think they have had enough of an integral part of the game, especially if the your character is using them, as far as I'm aware there were instant positive and negative effects when taking them in the previous games, but surely they should make you dizzy, or the screen blurry, or possibly bring forth hallucinations?. They should also have a more addictive effect, so if you start using them for awhile and then stop, your health/strength should be weakened for a large amount of time, gradually building back up again, which should encourage you to actually get back on the stuff. I also thought the guards weren't trying to crack down on this illegal narcotic enough, and if it had the effect mentioned above and you were flaying around town with no trousers on the guards should stop, search and arrest you. Drug dealing wasn't well-thought out enough either, or actually even implanted in Oblivion more than selling any other items were, and if you were involved in dealing you should have to find contacts to help you smuggle it across the border and then sell it, how awesome would controlling your own skooma cartel be?

any thoughts?

They implemented this in the latest Fallout games so it might be in Skyrim as well (the effects/ addicition part). I think it's a good concept.

Yeah running around naked fighting imaginary dragons whilst totally off your [censored] is always fun, just another weekend to me though :batman:

I have the feeling that Skyrim will be a good deal more gritty than previous games so I am certain some work will be done on this. Fingers crossed.

Don't make us wait till The Elder Scrolls VII: Elsweyr for a decent drug smuggling quest and system.

Feel sick and dirty more dead than alive.

I was just listening to that band today!

It's a decent concept, I'd like to see a more in depth smuggling/black market at play. Have stuff actually be illegal and have to seek out and earn the trust of underworld contacts to be capable of offloading it. I remember in Morrowind, you couldn't sell moon sugar or skooma to just anyone, but other goods that were supposedly (according to in game sources) illegal to trade in such as dwemer artifacts and raw ebony/glass were no problem, any merchant at all would happily buy them up. I always thought that was pretty lame.

Standing on the corner,
Suitcase in my hand

Sorry, no drugs are inside it.

I hope drugs and alcohol will have an effect on characters this time around. Like being drunk in GTA IV.

Stop! You've violated the law.

I am also hoping for an imperial captain a la Hieronymus Lex/Phillida who is hellbent on taking the drug trade down. A sophisticated black market would also help when buying/selling.

Completely OT:

Oh no . . . I have a really good friend who went through a 60's Warlocks/TVU phase. I got sooo tired of listing to Run, Run, Run and Venus in Furs.

Back OT: I always wondered why the DB was a "heavier" force for evil in the TES series. I mean other than just killing people, like a real syndicate of evil, including selling drugs (yes, I know, the game comes with a rating . . .)

I like the idea of a sophisticated black market with antagonists and protagonists smuggling, buying and selling, or trying to take down the organized crime syndicate. I'd also like to see an ability to make skooma with a high enough alchemy skill so I can live out my Breaking Bad character type.

I reckon so.

This would be brilliant. The recent Fallout games made improvements over Oblivion with regards to drugs, but this type of thing would make it even better for me.
