Mods uninstall the reinstall help please.

EDIT, Sorry titles meant to say "uninstall THEN reinstall help please"

Hi, as some of you may know, ive bought a new pc and am awaiting its arrival, but before it arrives i need to pretty much uninstall all mods and oblivion itself, then reinstall on new machine. I haven't got many mods but have a few questions. I will be copying files to my external HDD.

This is what ive done so far:

1. Copied save games
2. Deactivated mods via OBMM
3. Moved deactivated OMODs to my HDD

This what i will do (please say if you think i will do something wrong)

4. Uninstall Boss, and OBMM via uninstallers
5. Leave obse for oblivion uninstaller to delete? as its in data folder
6. Run main oblivion uninstaller

If this is a good uninstalling method please say so or give me advice on a better way.

NOW UNINSTALLED

Reinstalling

1. Install/run main oblivion installer from disk (btw its the GOTY version)
2. Install OBMM
3. Install OBSE then BOSS
4. Run oblivion to make sure it works
5. Install official add ons
6. Copy moved omods from old OBMM mods folder to new one then activate - Will these omods be ok to simply move them back into the new mods folder and activate them?

Activation order?
7. Activate UOP (unofficial oblivion patch)
8. Activate USIP ( " shivering isles ")
9. Activate unofficial add ons patch
10. Activate/configure OOO 1.33
11. Copy OOO 1.34 files to data folder
12. Activate - any other mods and run BOSS

Do these processes sound good for uninstalling then reinstalling?

Thanks for your time in reading this and any help you give. :)

That looks pretty solid. You should be good to go.

I agree with Malonn, though I wonder if you could just transfer your entire Oblivion install to your external HDD, then transfer that to your new computer. You might have to regenerate the Oblivion Ini file to compensate for the new hardware once the transfer is done, but you should be good to go as well. Would that work? Or would such a transition cause problems and instability?

Ok thanks guys i'll give it a go, and i did think about copying the whole data folder but thought it would be too risky, so will just do a fresh install, besides it normally copies files to the registry, etc

Just curious why you bothered to uninstall the game from your "old" computer. Are you not keeping it around as a backup or supplementary system?

I am keeping my old pc but it was getting cluttered up and slowing down, so decided to just uninstall it along with some other programs.

Right hello again, i now want to install oblivion onto my new pc, but its 64 bit, so can i still just make a custom games folder as a install path and install there? (to avoid UAC) because i noticed it has program files and program filesx86

Yes, your best bet is to create a folder anywhere in C:\ and install there. :)

Yes. If you are installing to Windows 7 64 bit you should definitely consider installing Oblivion to something like C:\Games\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion.

Just to say, i got it fully installed again, and am now getting pretty much 50-60 fps everywhere :) apart from in dense forest when it may go down to about 35-40fps but still good and am very happy ;)
