Wouldn't it be cool if Bethesda made a BIG overhaul on the three main destruction spells?
Last night I had a dream, again, about this freakin' high anticipated game. And all I remember about it was I was wielding a longsword in my right hand and the flamethrower spell in my left. And I came across some bandits at a camp and casted the flamethrower spell at one of the bandits and totally incinerated his body down to nothing but bones. And that was it.
I think this would make the spell system even way more interesting than it already sounds from what we know so far. Imagine, like I said, casting a flame spell at an enemy and incinerating them down to bones, or casting a frost spell and an enemy freezes for about a minute and with a shock spell you put the enemy in a seizure state, if you wanna call it that, and you can see his skeleton while his body is visible as well.
I don't know, just a thought.
Oh I have dreams like that all the time. Killing bandits is fun, even better when they get roasted! :flamethrower:
Like someone, or someones, have mentioned earlier this was discussed about in the GI article, "http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2011/01/24/skyrim-building-better-combat.aspx?PostPageIndex=2".
Fire will ignite the environment, which will ignite nearby enemies if they get too close. Frost will slow the enemy and drain their stamina, while leaving frost on the enemy's skin. Shock will drain mana, but nothing was mentioned about it's interactions with the environment and NPCs, although I might have missed it. While it wasn't said that it would be as detailed as your wonderful scenario, perhaps it might be close. Thinking about it, perhaps the visuals of the spell and spell effects will change depending on your present skill level. At first you might see some burning areas on the enemy's corpse at a low-medium level, but at Master level, you'll turn their entire corpse into a smoldering black heap.
