Well as far as I can tell all of the stage updates that get called tell the game to first remove all copies of the armor you have, then enable the one on the armor stand. Once tha'ts done, you click on the stand and get the pieces that are sitting on it again.

Which AltStart is that..only one way to find out..start a new character without that mod enabled and run through tutorial and see if you get the DLC pop ups or not


Yeah, seems that one is the cause of the bug, bah... I really hate going through the starting dungeon... Which Alternative Start mods are known to work with the UOP mods?

Ah, thanks for the quick reply, will try that one, hope it doesn't have any characters with new soundless or Microsoft Sam spoken dialogues, he he.
( M.O.E.'s alternative start had Microsoft Sam spoken dialogues, oh the horror! :ahhh: )

Yup, this one works like a charm, all quests are starting now. (Yay for quest spammery!)
And this Alternative Start mod is a thousand times better than the one I have! :)

Maybe I'm missing something but I don't see how the armor stand script can be exploited in such a way? Do you have a more detailed account of how to pull it off?

This duplication problem happens for people using Midas Chest or Purse Of Wonder (maybe Bag of Holding not tested).
I'm uploading a youtube video illustrating this KOTN armor duplication problem.

But then it's rather an exploit with the use of a mod than a bug IMO.

I dont say it's necessarily a bug, but this is instructive to look at the mechanism underlying some scripts.

Yes, but I mean it can't be UOP's (or UOMP's) role to preempt possibilities that certain mods might open up IMO. In this case it seems like one of those "just don't do it then" things as well.

I'm with Arkngt on this one. I have examined the scripts in every way I know how, and tested it with my own characters and was never able to duplicate anything. A mod that alters the scripts (which it would have to do) is not something the UOMP can fix.

I just purchased and downloaded Oblivion GOTY from Steam and am trying to install all the unofficial mods. I was able to get the main unofficial mod and the unofficial shivering isles mod installed, but I get an error during the install of this mods patch. Here is the log window that pops up.

Using the mod manager, it looks like everything is in the correct order, with the official DLC higher in the list than the unofficial mods. If I change the order of some of the mods in the list, I will get an error for a different esp instead of the ThievesDen.

I assume running the install multiple times will not corrupt anything. Is that correct?

If this has already been addressed, forgive me, but I could not find it. Any help is appreciated.

You need to move that file below DLCThievesDen.esp on your load list, and try again. If you get a different one complaining, move that one until things are satisfied.

Try changing the load order like so.

the thieves den SSSB patch needs to load below the Unofficial one.

I have tried placing them right next to each other, but it didn't seem to help. Here is a question, though. If I have the esp's from this patch, do I really need to do anything else? It is failing in this auto scripting thing, but I decided to try to download the manual install and it looks like you just copy the files and select them, without doing anything else. I'm going to try and see if it works now.

Edit: How can I tell if it works? The game runs with the files included... is that sign enough?

I just noticed that BOSS suggestions does not match the unofficial patches tags. I assume that BOSS is right, but it never hurt to check :)

If BOSS is right, maybe the patches should be updated to match.

BOSS is right, and I doubt anyone is looking to update these files solely for the purpose of putting proper Bash tags on them.

I encountered an issue with DLCThievesDen - Unofficial Patch - SSSB.esp, it removes Jak Silver from the middle deck and I can not get out of the middle deck any more. The ladder to the upper deck is gone and the door to the lower deck does not work. If I disable SSSB only, leaving DLCThievesDen - Unofficial Patch activated, then the middle deck seams to be ok.

Use the Supplemental version of the UOMP, it's updated the DLC Thieves Den patch to no longer need the SSSB plugin.

I've found KotN DVD at £5 at amazon uk
Before I buy it, I would like to know it it will be ok to install the DLCs on top of a fully modded Oblivion + Shivering Isle game like this one

Hard to answer without knowing how you installed mods in the first place.

If using OBMM or manually installing then install order does matter - if installing with BAIN it matters less because you can shift install orders much like you can shift load orders.

But mods with BSA files it doesn't really matter. With no loose files nothing will be overwritten or underwritten.
